The book that Alex held in her hand was the Adventure Log of Ugo. She clearly remembered reading this book, along with another one, when she was stuck in the infirmary. She had suspicions that there was more to the book besides used to belonging to William Minerva so she brought it with her. The girl immediately started working on trying to find out where she had seen these roots before, or something similar. Thankfully, Alex was really good at skimming so it wasn't going to take her long to find it.

"I can't remember the exact details so I'll have to look for it," The redhead told them. She flipped through the book rapidly, "Where is it? Where is it?! It's in here somewhere!" She exclaimed with a frustrated sigh, "Snakes... Snakes..."

"Are you talking-" Ray started to say.

"This is it!" Alex cut him off. She had a huge grin on her face, "They're called 'the Snakes of Alvar Pinera!'" Definitely an interesting name. She wasn't too surprised about it though. It was a fantasy book... Well, would it really be called that if it was referring to their current situation? Alex wasn't too sure anymore.

"I know what you're talking about!" Emma stated.

Alex nodded at her. She showed the pages of the book where it talked about the snakes to Ray and Gilda. She pointed to the part where the snakes were mentioned, "This is what I'm talking about. Everything adds up. There's a cave, treasure, plus the snakes. We are literally in the same place it's talking about in here."

"This book was truly meant to be a guidebook for us!" Emma smiled. She was peering over Alex's shoulder at the book with a bright look in her eye. Alex didn't blame her either. This book had just given them a newfound sense of hope that she was starting to lose.

"Hold it, Alex. It's true the two stories are similar, but-"

Of course, Ray would be the one to doubt it. He was the skeptical one out of everyone. Sure, that could come in handy in some situations. It was really annoying when they knew what they were doing was going to be the right choice. Alex gave him a pointed look, "Are you really going to pass this off as a coincidence?"

There was a moment of silence as Ray thought it over. Ray glanced over at the roots, "Well, I suppose it's possible," He took off his backpack and grabbed something that was inside of it. He put his backpack back on and then said, "Let's give it a shot."

"Yeah!" Emma agreed.

"If I'm right about what this book is then the only way for the tree to actually attack us is... Okay!" Alex had a set idea in mind of what they were going to do. Now all that was left was to actually put it in action. She shared a look with Ray and Emma who both nodded at her. They were all on the same page. Alex turned to the others, "All of you need to back up!"
