Sam's POV

"Things with Kate are going well I take it", Danny asks taking a swig of his beer and points to me with a knowing look.

"You can say that, yeah", looking around the bar at the other guys.

My shift ended about an hour ago. The guys were already here, so I decided to hang out with them for a while. Estephon sitting adjacent from me, sipping a martini.

He says they're the best things he's ever drank in his life. Danny sits beside him quietly monitoring all of us. He pesters me now and again about Katelyn. Lately, I've been more compliant in responding. I guess I finally want to talk about my situation with someone, why not the great listener himself.

Cole and Thomas are playing a round of pool with two women. Their efforts to sleep with them are very evident to on lookers. I hate to admit it, but I've been checking my phone constantly for a message from her.

Nothing so far but I'm being hopeful, probably a bit too much. I know that she's taken and she's trying to figure out what she really wants. I'm trying not to expect too much. But I've made a silent vow to make more of an effort to opening her eyes in showing her what she truly deserves.

No more running away when things don't go my way. No matter the anger and pain I feel when I see her with Dylan. This isn't going to be easy and I know that. I'm willing to do that for her, anything actually because I love her.

"Wow is that a smile I see on Sam's face", Cole jokes.

"Ha ha funny, I can smile ", I retorted.

"Really, guys when was the last time Sam ever smiled", Thomas asked joining in the conversation.

Everyone had a thinking expression on their faces, an entire minute passing by.

"Alright, I get it".

Everyone laughed.

"We're all happy that your happy", Danny encourages throwing his beefy arm across my shoulders.

We chatted for a while longer before we all agreed to leave, going our separate ways.

Katelyn POV

First one arriving home, I realize how quiet it really is in the loft. Sam won't be home for a little while, which kinda bums me out. I really want to see her.

Dylan's been texting me, wondering if I remembered the plans to have dinner with his parents tonight. In all honesty, I had completely forgotten about it.

Making my way to my closet, I rummage through to find something to wear. Do I really have to go to this dinner. Maybe I can just say I caught the flu.

Looking at my phone as I contemplated on the matter. I grab my phone to dial Dylan's phone number.

"Hey babe, dinner isn't until 10 what's wrong".

"Babe I don't think I can tonight, I somehow managed to contract the flu". I threw in a few sneezes and sniffling in for good measure.

"Alright, I'll bring you some hot soup and medicine for it".

"No you don't have to, umm Sam already made me some and went out for more medicine".

Sorry Sam, but I didn't know what else to say.

"She's sure being helpful", he mutters.

"What's that supposed to mean, of course she is she's my best friend".

"You sure she's not trying to take my place or anything", he inquires.

"Aww, is Dylan jealous", I tease keeping up with my sick act.

"Of course I am she's Sam, she can have whomever she wanted straight or otherwise".

"Wow, knowing her she'd take that as a compliment", I reply knowing Sam all too well.

"I'll let you rest now, don't be charmed by her, your mine and I love you", he says before hanging up.

Dinner successfully avoided. I should text Sam to bring me soup and medicine before she gets here. That way it won't be a complete lie. After doing that, I decided to take a shower and watch a movie after.

Sam's POV

I got a text from Kate a while ago telling me to bring soup and medicine. When did she get sick, I know I didn't give it to her. Unlocking the door, bag in hand. I quietly searched for Kate, not wanting to wake her if she was asleep.

Hearing the television in the living room, I start my search there. There, Kate lies wrapped in her blanket. Her eyes fixated on what's playing.

"How are you feeling", I asked placing the bag onto the table and taking a seat beside her.

I lift her legs to sit closer to her and place them down in my lap.

"I'm better now that you're here", she says sporting a huge smile on her face.

I reach out to check her temperature with my hand, touching her forehead and along her neck. She closes her eyes and bites her lip. Now I want to bite her lip, focus Sam shes sick. Then I realize her temperature isn't abnormal.

"You don't have a fever", I said but I think she already knew that.

"Nope", she says shaking her head slowly.

"Okay, then whyd you text me to bring soup and medicine", I interject.

"I told Dylan I was sick and that you went out to bring soup and medicine for me", she said straddling my lap.

Her hands snake around my neck teasing the short strands of hair behind my head. Kate's very daring tonight, I don't smell any alcohol though so that's good. Her creamy thighs now on display and her tits peeping through her shirt, I don't know if I can control myself.

"So you lied", I asked drawing  small circles on her thighs with each thumb.

"Nuh uhh, told half the truth", she corrected tapping her finger on my exposed collar bone.

I couldn't help but smile at her antics. Shes really trying to seduce me, it's cute.

"It's, still a lie", I retorted.

She rolls her eyes, sighing and removes herself from my lap. Ahh, she's annoyed at me. I pull her back onto my lap. Squeezing her from behind with my face buried at the side of her neck.

That smell I love so much, hits me at full force. Placing kisses on her neck she tears away from me, standing up. My hand in hers, she leads me to my room.
