"PARK AREUM!"

the hallway got real silent after hearing someone shout.

I didn't dare to look up as I was scared to what will happened if I looked.

I'm still waiting for the impact yet it never come. I slowly looked up at little and saw that angelic face of my savior who will always be there for me.

Yoon Jeonghan.

He held Areum hand firmly and while looking at me. His eyes soften upon seeing me trembling like this. He then turn his head back to Areum.

"aren't you tired?" he asked Areum but instead of answer they burst into laughter. He creased his eyebrow at them.

"aaaww Jeonghan" she said while moving closer to him "I'm not doing anything to her.... we're just playing around..." she said while tracing her finger on his chest.

Jeonghan scoffed and said "playing around my ass". He then take her finger off of his chest and whispered closely to her ears "If I catched you did this again to her, I would not hesitate to make you drop out of this school or even worst end you" he said slowly but loud enough for people around to hear him. He smirk at her and pulled me out of there with him.

He bring me to the rooftop. As soon as we get there he let go of my hand and frustratingly rub his face. I stand there quietly while still facing the ground.

"my god Eunjin!" I was a little bit shocked hearing him shouting at me.

"can't you at least!? at least! once! stand up for yourself??" he asked me with his both hand on his waist. I just looked down with tears at the brim of my eyes.

I heard footsteps and I know he coming closer to me.

"Hey, Eunjin" he said while searching for my face. I feel so pathetic right now. Its true. I can't even stand up for myself even once! but I did! I did try and still it doesn't even helped me but make it even worst.

Jeonghan has been there for me for years already. Everytime I ended up in a situation like before or even worst, he's the only one who helped me.

Jeonghan's uncle is the owner of this school. Most students here are all afraid of him. He's one of the richest student here even richer than Areum. He was Areum's ex boyfriend.  He used to hate me before. Both Areum and he used to bully me too but now only Areum does so. Jeonghan has turn into a better person after breaking up with her. I'm actually glad with that.

"Hey, Eunjin? do you hear me?" Jeonghan said that waking me up from my deep thought. "w-what?" I said stuttered. "I said, I'm sorry for shouting at you. I was just...too mad about it" he said moving even closer to me. I looked down nervously as I can feel his intense stare at me.

He sighed and suddenly I feel his hand held my chin slowly lift it up. I look at him in the eyes and so do he.

"Eunjin, once in your life time, you have to stand up for yourself. You can't always depend on someone to help you." He said searching something in my eyes. "If you keep letting people hurt you down, then they will have. o respect at you at all, they will keep bully you, tortured you and all. You understand me?" He asked softly. I nodded with pool of tears in my eyes threatening to fall. He sighed and moved his hand to both of cheeks wiping up the tears.

"Eunjin, I'm saying this to you not to blame you or anything but wanting you to gain courage and be brave. I do help you but I'm not will always be there for you. I have my own life and sometimes I have to take day off. There's no one to protect you, no one to stand up for you from them unless its yourself, do you hear me?" Jeonghan said as he connected his forehead with mine looking deeply into my eyes. I softly nodded while looking into his eyes.

He then hugged me tightly. "You can do it Eunjin, I know you can" He said while smiling. "Now, let's go back to the class" He said breaking away from the hug. No no, I don't want to let go yet  I said in my mind "No!" I accidentally let it out and hold his hand tightly. Jeonghan looked at me weirdly "huh? what no?" he look at me sternly. I feel so embarrassed and just holding his hand with my head down. "s-stay f-for a whil-while" I muttered slowly while stuttering here and there. Jeonghan was awfully quite that I don't even know what he's thinking when I suddenly I feel a warm body hugging me from my side. I looked up to see Jeonghan give me a hug while smiling.

"I know you would ask for that little girl" he said smirking. "Little girl"  that name was the name that he used to call me when he bullied me but now that he was different it does gave me butterflies. I smile and hug him even tighter. I felt safe and warm with him.

Months has passed since that day. Everyone is so busy with the final exam and a 10th grader farewell party which is us.

now that the final exam has finished everyone be busy with the farewell party preparation. There will be a lot of activity and one of it are the grand ball where people will be in partners.

I was at my locker when I heard cringy voice asking Jeonghan to be her partner. I'm trying to not be busybody and just kept all my things when suddenly a hand landed on my waist turning me around that made me crashed into the locker.

I place my hand on the shoulders to keep me stand and slowly looked up only to see Jeonghan's eyes staring down at me. His face are so close that made me hard to breath. Everyone there went silent and not even dare to move. Some of them giving a shocked expression and some of them are just smirking(?)

I looked back up at Jeonghan and saw his smirking. "I want you to be my partner for the party" He said smirking while pulling me even close to him. "I wont accept any no's" he whispered huskily near my ears that made me almost gasped and my face heat up. He let go of me and put a strand of my hair behind my ears. I took a peek at Areum and saw her eyes flaring with anger. I looked back at Jeonghan and smile a little. He returning the smile and went off the school. So does everyone else.

I put my hand on my chest, facing the locker and feel my heartbeat went rocketed. Damn...
