Chapter 7

READER'S POV

Later on that night, I was in my room and I couldn't fall asleep since I had a lot on my mind and I was also thinking back to the day I arrived here. I pictured the six brothers in my mind and then something occurred to me.

'Who is the seventh and youngest brother? Why haven't I met him? where is he?'

I asked myself as I laid there on the bed. But I couldn't fall asleep since these thoughts were keeping me awake until my D.D.D. pinged. I sat up and I picked it up from the nightstand before checking the message.

Leviathan: "You say Lucifer mentioned having frozen something? Are you absolutely sure that's what he said?"

(Y/n): Yep, I'm absolutely sure."

Leviathan: "Come to the kitchen. Right now.

Leviathan: "Don't tell anyone what you're doing. I don't want anyone to mistakenly think that I hang out with some human normie."

I sighed before I got up from the bed. I put on my (f/c) fur boot slippers before heading into the kitchen. Once I got there, I heard something in the kitchen it sounded like someone was having a midnight snack. I was about to walk away and act like that I haven't noticed until someone spoke up.

"Not so fast."

I turned around and it was Beelzebud. What was he doing up at this hour?

"Are you going to pretend like you didn't see me here or is it that you're planning to go tell on me?"

I shook my head for a no before he continued.

"Meh, I guess it doesn't matter either way. Anyway, what're you doing in the kitchen so late?"

"I was feeling a little peckish so I came here."

"That makes two of us, then," Beel spoke with a small smile on his face.

I sighed quietly in relief since he took the bait and I couldn't let him know that I was meeting Levi here.

"In that case, I understand. When you start feeling hungry in the middle of the night, it's not like you can just wait until morning to eat. Oh, and the refrigerator's empty. I already ate everything in there."

"Oh man..." I mumbled.

'Wait, this might be the perfect opportunity to ask him.'

"Actually, while you're here, there's something I want to ask you."

"What is it?"

"Who is the seventh brother?"

Beelzebud frowned when I asked him before he told me.

"Now listen, don't you ever mention him in front of Lucifer. Just so we're clear, I'm not going to tell you anything, either. Lucifer would at me if I did. And don't bother asking any of my brothers, either. No one talks about him. Even though he's our brother...we have to treat him like he doesn't exist...it's not right. But, since no one can defy Lucifer..."

I was surprised by Beel's reaction because one minute he was angry at me for asking and then his expression changes from a frown to a sad one. Something told me this might be a touchy subject for him and the others but, why though?

"...You know what? This isn't any of your business, human. I'm leaving. I've already eaten everything there was in the refrigerator now anyway. I'm pretty sure Lucifer is hiding a poisoned apple in the desk in the study..." Beel told me as he left the kitchen.
