On The Right Time

CHAPTER 16

I don't know what I am really doing. I saw her crying earlier. I saw how Jasmine's tears dropped from her eyes after I said those words that I really didn't mean to say. I hate it because I'm letting my anger and pain eat me.

Pagkatapos kong sabihin ang mga bagay na yun ay hindi na ulit siya nagsalita pa. Kahit nga tingnan ako hindi na niya ginawa hanggang makarating at maibaba ko siya. She just thanked me without looking or even glancing at me. I know I hurt her.

And it is so unfair on my part because I feel so hurt too for knowing that I hurt her. Dapat talaga hindi na ako nagbida-bidang ihatid siya, e, pero hindi ko kasi talaga kaya ng konsensya ko. Hindi lang konsensya ko pati ng puso ko kase talagang nag-aalala ako sa kanya. Hindi ko man aminin o ipakita. I'm still concerned about her, especially about her safety. I still want her to be safe as always. And most of all I still want to make sure that she's always safe and steady because I feel like it's my duty to do so, though it is clearly not.

I sighed and entered the elevator. I pressed the button floor where my unit was located at pagod na napasandal sa pader ng elevator. I should stop thinking about her because she's literally stressing the hell out of me.

I checked my phone, hoping that Allison would finally update me on what's going on there or how she is but there still none. Maghapon na 'kong nag-aantay sa tawag o maski kahit sana message niya na lang pero wala. But I understand na baka sobrang busy niya lang talaga siguro.

Speaking about her pala. Our Zambales trip was fun. I really enjoyed it, especially nung Sunday. We planned to do island hopping kasi nung Saturday after nung surfing namin that's why three o'clock pa lang ng madaling araw noong sunday ay gising na ulit kami just to packed up and get ready for our activities and other agendas.

We went to the famous and well known beaches in Zambales like Camara Island, Capones Island, we visited the lighthouse there and it was such a cute experience. We also went to Kwentong Dagat and stayed there until the day ended. Grabeng experience lang, especially it's my first time to travel with someone and it's my first time to do such things like that with Allison. Allison is a great travel buddy, I guess.

Nakakapagod din yung mga pinaggagawa namin the whole weekend pero sulit naman sa memories. Wala pa kaming maayos na tulog dahil kaninang umaga lang kami umuwi dito sa Manila. Actually, 'di ko na nga nakasama si Allison pabalik talaga dito sa Manila kasi dumiretso na siya. Kumbaga airport to airport na ang ginawa niya kaya sa Zambales pa lang naghiwalay na kami.

Hindi ko na gaano naintindihan ang mga sinabi niya kanina kasi nagmamadali na siya. But I know she has the privilege to have her own flight or drive one of their aircraft because she has a license for it and she's the daughter of the owner.

When the elevator door finally opened I immediately exited the elevator and went to my unit. Nang makapasok ako sa unit ko ay napatigil ako sa paglalakad ng magkasalubong pa kami ni Maxine. Mukhang galing siya sa kusina at patungo sa sala. She's holding a bowl full of popcorn.

"Antagal mong dumating, nauna pa 'ko sayo," Sabi niya bago dumakot ng popcorn sa bowl at isubo sa bibig niya.

Napamaang naman ako bago siya pasadahan ng tingin mula ulo hanggang paa. She's already wearing my sleepwear at yung favorite pj's ko pa talaga ang gamit gamit niya. Nang tingnan ko ulit siya sa mukha ay nakita kong tiningnan niya rin ang sarili niya pababa bago nagkibit balikat at muling sumubo ng popcorn. Tumuloy na ito ng lakad papuntang sala kaya sumunod ako.

"Dito na 'ko matutulog. Tinatamad na akong umuwi ang tagal mo kasi kanina pa ako nag-aantay sayo dito." Naka-upo na ito ngayon sa sofa, nakapatong pa ang paa sa center table habang hawak-hawak ang remote at naghahanap ng movie sa Netflix. "Bilisan mo na magbihis ka na dun. Kumain ka na din jan, nagluto ako ng adobo nandun sa lamesa. Tinakpan ko lang yun hindi ko pa pinasok sa ref." Walang tingin-tingin niyang sabi sa akin.
