Chapter 22

Trigger stepped out from the car as soon as they reached Dra. Haley's house.

Agad na sumalubong sa kaniya ang mga tauhan niya na pinamumunuan ni Enica. Walang pakealam na nilagpasan niya lang ang mga ito at dire-diretsyong pumasok.

When he stepped inside the house, bumungad sa kaniya si Enica at ang doktora sa tabi nito.

Haley stood up from her seat while trembling.

"Sir," she said as she bowed her head to give respect.

"Where's my wife, Haley?" malamig na tanong ng lalaki.

"S-She's upstairs."

Mabilis namang naglakad ang lalaki papalapit sa hagdan, pero hindi pa siya nakakaakyat ay agad na siyang pinigilan ni Enica at ng doktora.

He let go from their grip. "Let me see her!"

"I'll allow you to see her, sir. Pero magdahan-dahan ka po muna. Hindi maganda ang kalagayan ni Miracle ngayon dahil limang taon na po siyang hindi nagigising simula nang mangyari ang aksidenteng 'yon."

His jaw tightened. "I will never harm my wife again."

"I know, Trigger," Enica answered. "Pero kailangan ka munang kausapin ni doktora Haley tungkol sa sitwasyon ni Miracle."

He massaged his nape before nodding his head kahit gustong gusto na niyang makita ang asawa niya.

"Napakalala ng aksidenteng kinasangkutan ng asawa mo. Kaya noong dinala ko siya rito, I'm not really sure if she'll survive. But miracle happened and she survived that accident. Pero ang kapalit no'n ay ang limang taon niyang pagtulog. One week ago, she showed some signs of waking up. Kaya nakonsensya na ako sa pagsisinungaling ko, naisipan kong umamin sa inyo na tinatago ko si Miracle," Haley explained.

"Why did you hid her from me? Nagmukha akong tanga sa limang taon na 'yan dahil sa pagtitiwala sa 'yo!" Trigger exclaimed.

"I'm sorry. I was just scared. Napamahal na sa akin si Miracle sa loob ng ilang buwan na pag-aalaga ko sa kaniya. Para ko na siyang anak. Natakot a-ako na baka kuhanin ninyo siya sa akin at ipakulong ninyo ako dahil sa pagsisinungaling ko," she cried.

"I need to warn you, Trigger. She might wake up soon, pero alam kong may kapalit ulit ang paggising niya."

Umangat ang tingin ng lalaki dahil doon.

"What are you trying to say?"

"Napuruhan ang ulo niya sa aksidente. May internal bleeding sa loob ng utak niya noong dinala ko siya rito. I did everything to make her situation better. Pero sa oras na magising siya, sigurado ako na hindi ka niya makikilala."

Pain and disappointment invaded Trigger's system.

Her wife might not remember him?

"Karamihan sa mga naging pasyente ko na naaksidente ay nagkaganoon din. They can't remember anything from the past, they can't remember their love ones. And in Miracle's situation, after 5 years of being comatose, her brain would be shocked. That's why I'm telling you to slow down. Hindi natin puwedeng ipaalala kay Miracle lahat ng mga bagay na napagdaanan niya noon. She might not regain her memories back if you'll shock her."

Mariing napasabunot sa buhok si Trigger habang pinapakinggan ang eksplanasyon ng doktora.

Her wife might not regain her memories. She won't remember the pain that they gave.

Kung magigising ang asawa niya, hindi siya nito makikilala. The love she used to gave will never be the same.

But if her wife won't remember anything from the past. She'll never get out from his grip again. Hindi siya nito kamumuhian. Makakabawi siya sa lahat ng kagaguhan na ginawa niya rito.

Nagmulat ang lalaki bago kuhanin ang cellphone sa bulsa. He dialed Benedict's number.

Few seconds after and Benedict answered the call.

"Trigger?"

"I found Miracle," he said.

Natahimik ng ilang segundo ang kabilang linya. "My d-daughter? You found her? Where?"

"The guilt in your voice suffocates me, Benedict," Trigger answered with hatred in his tone.

"Do everything to fix your company's mess. And tomorrow, come with me, bring Olivia with you. If Miracle happens to wake up sooner and later, I want you to introduce yourselves as her parents. Be fucking nice and do what I say so. Don't mention anything from the past. We'll stop her from gaining her memories." Pinatay niya ang tawag matapos sabihin 'yon.

Haley looked at him. "You'll stop Miracle from remembering her past? Anong ibig mong sabihin?"

Trigger stood up from his seat. "Gusto mo bang makabawi sa pagsisinungaling na ginawa mo?"

She swallowed continously before nodding her head. "I'll do e-everything to--"

"Give me some medicine to stop Miracle from gaining her memories back." Everyone in the room gasped with his answer.

Even the doctor panicked.

"Trigger, y-you can't do this. Hindi ka ba n-naaawa sa sitwasyon ng asawa mo?" hysterical na tanong nito.

He flashed a dangerous smile. "You want to go against me, doktora?"

Haley shook her head. "Hindi. H-Hindi sa gano'n, Trigger. Pero kita matutulungan sa gano'ng bagay! Ayokong magsinungaling kay Miracle!"

"I'll give her a good life, new memories and a happy family. Sa akin ang asawa ko kaya ako ang may karapatang magdesisyon sa kaniya. Now give me what I want. Sa oras na labagin mo ang utos ko, I won't hesitate to send you inside a jail. You'll never have a chance to meet my lovely wife again, you don't want that to happen, right?" He smirked devilishly as he went upstairs.

The doctor just sat down. No wonder that Trigger's one of the must cruel and ruthless CEO in the whole world. He's good at manipulating people.

Trigger on the other hand faced the room where he can hear some Hospital's machines. Alam niyang nandito ang asawa niya.

He bit his lower lip as he opened the door.

Bumaba agad ang tingin niya sa asawa na payapang natutulog sa kama.

He felt his hands trembling. Sinarado niya ang pintuan bago maglakad papalapit sa pwesto nito.

He sat on the chair beside Miracle's bed.

Huminga siya nang malalim bago hawakan ang kamay nito na may bakas pa ng maliliit na peklat.

Trigger's eyes went to his wife's face.

For 5 years, nothing has changed. She's still the most beautiful woman he ever saw. Para pa rin itong anghel na bumaba sa langit.

Maingat niyang dinampian ng halik ang likod ng palad nito.

"I'm sorry," he whispered silently as he let his tears fall.

Nanginginig ang kamay na hinaplos niya ang napakalambot nitong pisngi.

"I'm s-sorry, baby. I m-miss you, so much," umiiyak niyang bulong.

Pumikit siya at dinikit ang likod ng palad nito sa pisngi niya. "I'll give you a good life, baby. Babawi ako sa l-lahat ng ginawa ko sa 'yo. I'll do everything to make them pay, Racle. I'll protect you from anyone."

Hinawakan niya nang mahigpit ang kamay nito habang tahimik na umiiyak.
