CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE

-: seventh year :-

── IN WHICH SHE FINDS SOMETHING

. . .

Fleur and Elodie were finishing their possibly fifth cup of lavender and earl grey ice cream when they decided to get up and continue their way around the shopping area. With their stomachs happily filled with the frozen dessert, thhe two french girls focused much more on the task at hand.

Which was going through Elodie's Hogwarts list. It wasn't that they doubted Célia Beaumont's ability to read through a list of equipment and then go out and find the absolute best version of all them all. But they did have a couple of hours to fill and what better way to pass it then shopping?

Elodie had gone through her Hogwarts trunk at least five times since acquiring it, and considering just how well she knew what was held within it, she found herself just going along with it despite her knowledge that she had absolutely everything she required.

"Fleur - really, I think I've got everything." The Beaumont girl's smile barely even faded as she repeated the phrase for the umpteenth time. "You've met my mum, you know she wouldn't leave anything else out."

"You're still looking for school stuff?" Fleur turned around, confusion written across her features. "I thought we were just looking around now. That's why I pointed out that hat a couple shops ago... and that's why you said that it wouldn't go with grey."

"That makes sense." Elodie nodded, giggling as her friend linked their arms. "We should go get that hat - where was the shop again?"

"Just around the corner!" Fleur's tone was bubbly as she pulled Elodie across the cobbled streets, attracting attention as she usually did. Each store front was completely bathed in sunlight, and the two paused forr a moment, raising hands to their brow to shade their eyes as they looked around. "I swear it was one of these.. wait here whilst I go found it."

Forever confident in what she was doing, Fleur disappeared into one of the colourful wooden doors, leaving Elodie laden with bags and stood in the middle of a rather crowded street.

Finding refuge in what seemed to be an either closed or empty shop, Elodie settled down on the stone doorstep. Right beside her was a black cat, basking in the sunlight with it's dark fur shining a chocolate brow. It mewled when it noticed the girl sat beside it, pushing itself up from it's laid position and pushed the top of it's head into her curved palm.

"Ah - I'm sorry for disturbing you." Elodie smiled down at the animal, as she stroked behind it's ears, thumb and forefinger sliding across the fur of it's chin. "Oh.. you're so pretty."

She settled on the doorstep, back hitting the faded orange door. The cat climbed up into her lap and curled up in the bend between her knees and her torso, head wresting on her thigh. They sat like that forr a little while, before a rather loud noise startled the animal and witch and the cat scattered.

"Gosh.." Elodie shook her head, deciding to check through the crowds for that tell-tale head of white blonde hair and pushing herself to her feet. Dark eyes scanned the crowd, but not a single strand of the silvery hair was in sight. "What's taking her so long?"

The Beaumont girl didn't return to her position on the doorstep, instead leaning against the jutting out doorframe and the door, picking at some of the remaining, peelinng paint.

Eyes scattered across the six rectangular pains of glass sat in the door, before something caught her eye. A small slip of card, which seemed to be detailing some form of contact details.

Elodie's mind flickered back to what Fred and George were discussing the previous night, all about their business and their plans for it when it came to them garduating Hogwarts. Eyes sparking, the girl dug through her bags to find the notebook and quill set that she had bought earlier that day.

And quickly, Fleur still not arriving back with the hat or the known location of it, Elodie managed to scribble down the contents of the card, hoping that it would be of use to the twins she was staying with.

And she had no true idea of what this one scribbled set of notes from the contents of the card in 93 Diagon Alley's window could bring to Fred and George Weasley.
