"Does he..hate me?" Of course he did, she didn't even need to ask the question to know the answer.
But Donghee had a bad habit.

Even if she knew the answer, she wanted to hear the brutal truth because she wanted to feel worthless sometimes. She wanted to feel like she was doing people a favour by feeling worthless.

"He doesn't hate you Donghee, he's just still mourning over someone."
"But why..why does he hate me so much? What did I do to him?" Donghee cried in Mark's embrace.

Mark had driven Donghee back to Jeno's place, but he hadn't left yet. He wanted to make sure she could go to sleep with a light heart.

"You didn't do anything. He's just a bad brother who can't see that you're the best sister in the world. I mean c'mon, if I actually had you as my sister I think I'd be the best brother alive." Mark pat her head softly.

He knew how to treat her like a sister. He knew how to be the brother she always wanted. He knew it all, and he gave it to her. He was the brother she always wanted. He was the best brother she could ever ask for. He cared for her.

"But he said-"
"I know what he said, and he's stupid for saying it. C'mon Hee, you have work tomorrow. Knowing you, you don't wanna go to work with puffy red eyes." Donghee looked up at Mark with a faint smile, nodding her head at him.
"You're right.." She whispered.

Mark sat up from the edge of her bed, looking down at her with sad and sorry eyes.

"Make sure you sleep well, sis." Donghee felt her heart go warm at the nickname. She flashed him a warm smile.

Mark flicked the light switch and quietly closed the door. Walking towards the door, he saw Jaemin taking his shoes off.

"Here again?"
"Yea, I took a few punches and Jeno's apartment was closer." Jaemin carefully hold onto his bruise jaw.
"I can tell, your face looks like on of Yuta's canvases."
"Fuck you." Jaemin threw the older a glare.
"Did you bring your car here or?" Mark asked suddenly as he put on his shoes.
"Nah I walked, why?"
"I was gonna ask if you could drive Donghee to work tomorrow but if you don't have your car then that's fine." Mark shrugged his shoulders after standing up straight. "I'll be going now."

. . .

Morning had come. Donghee sat up on her bed with tired eyes and aching limbs.

6:00 am

Donghee took her time in the morning to get ready and eat. She was too tired to put in time and effort into her appearance and breakfast. She just wanted to get everything done and leave.

"Oi egghead," A low and tired voice called from behind, "I'm driving you so tell me when you're done. Also before you ask why I'm being nice, it's because Mark Hyung asked me to." Jaemin dangled his keys in front of her face, not bothering to ask why it was so puffy.
