"See you soon."

My eyes followed the youngest as he ran ahead of me, his pace so fast, it almost seemed as if he went flying through the air.
I on the other hand purposely stayed behind, throwing a quick glance over my shoulder to make sure I still kept a decent distance from the SVT member.

The longer we ran along, the more people seemed to notice us earlier. More and more eyes focused on us from afar, heads following the direction we ran to while they were quick to jump out of our way.

It didn't take long until we finally reached the familiar crossroad and I watched as Jisung took a right turn into one of the many side alleys. Another quick glance over my shoulder and I could tell that the ravenette Chinese was right at my heels, already too close for my liking.

I swiftly did the same as the youngest and turned into one of the alleys, though instead, I ran into the opposite direction to keep our pursuer away from the blonde. There were still a lot of people walking there, but gladly, it was not as crowded as it had been before and it got emptier the further we ran down the path. In the meantime, my attention only lied on the street ahead of me and I was dedicated to quickly get to our agreed destination.

Although my breathing was quite irregular and my heart about to give up due to the exhaustion, I still ran as if my entire life depended on it. Only when I noticed that the place was not too far away anymore, our chase gradually became slower until I finally came to where I was supposed to be.

My feet stopped running abruptly when I entered the small backyard of an already closed bar, at first glance, no one near the area we had chosen to meet at days ago. Panic suddenly rose in me as I hectically turned in every direction, hoping to find either Jisung, the others or the SVT member, but no one was around.

How come no one was here?
I wasn't at the wrong place, I couldn't be-

"Ji?", I breathed out loud and worriedly waited for an answer through my earpiece- nothing but torturing silence lying in the air that caused a shiver as cold as a stormy winter night to run down my spine.

Instead of the boy I called for, another NCT member answered me, hectically panting as if he was currently running.
"He's after Jisung, not you!" Donghyuck gasped with a panicking tone in his voice.
"We're trying to get to him."

Fuck.

I bit my lip as my heart contracted almost painfully.
I knew he had been nervous from the start, but instead of staying by his side, I wasn't there to back him up.
Yes, it was the plan after all, but I should've protected him anyway. Why was I so fucking stupid? Wanting to see him safe was the only thing I had in mind.

Before the guilt started taking over every nerve in my body, I immediately went in the direction Jisung originally should've come from, sprinting as fast as my feet could carry me. My heart was beating drastically fast, threatening to burst at any moment the longer I ran, only the last pictures of the youngest in my head. The loud sound of my steps echoed through the many alleys as I passed them, hoping to find my classmate as quickly as possible.
