Hastily, I put my long raven hair into a tight ponytail before splashing ice-cold water onto my face. I took a deep breath as soon as my hands steadied themselves by holding onto the edges of the sink, my heart rapidly pounding while I desperately tried to calm myself down.

I had been like this for a while now, probably ever since I woke up today.
Admittedly, it was quite surprising to me I managed to fall asleep at all but at the same time, it could've been only around three to four hours. I hadn't felt this tired in a while, the last time maybe when I still had those nightmares about my mother.
It's ironic that NCT and DRGNS were now working together to finally end it all. We had trained and exercised for days and I felt more at ease knowing we had a total of 38 members backing each other up.

"Why?" I mumbled under my breath. "Why do I feel like this?"

Ever since we had Jun and The8 with us, SVT had been suspiciously quiet. No incidents, no sudden encounters, not the smallest activity.
On the other hand side, the citizens were all shopping for Christmas presents, spending their precious time outside in the cold while drinking warm punch. It almost seemed as if the gang had never existed and the light-heartedness and cheerful celebration felt oddly wrong.

According to Jun, SVT was planning on blowing up the entire area where all the important businessmen, women and politicians had their residence, including the immense skyscrapers around them. We had patrolled there multiple times a day with no success, searched all places where SVT had ever been seen or made trouble and since Nayeon was secretly a police officer, she even warned the police who hadn't found anything either but evacuated that part of the city just in case.
It was nerve-wracking to not know where they were and what they could be doing at this exact moment.

A loud knock suddenly brought me back to reality and my body automatically flinched due to the uneasiness that had settled in my nerves. Without hesitation, I opened the door of the bathroom only to see Yeeun leaning against the doorframe, her outfit consisting of nothing but black clothes and boots along with a bulletproof vest and a belt where she secured a few weapons and ammo. Her platinum hair was in a ponytail as well and just by her expression, you could tell that our leader was as determined as ever.

"Are you ready?" she asked me with a calm and collected voice. "We need to head out in a few minutes."

"Yes, I am" I immediately answered while drying my face with a towel, unconsciously knowing that it was a little lie. I was anything but ready though I didn't want to admit I was scared. I pretended to swallow it all down and was about to walk past her, only to feel a grip around my wrist that stopped me from leaving the room.

"Sunghee", the leader then softly began and let go of me as soon as I turned back to her. "It's a weird timing, I know... but no matter what happens today, I want to apologize to you."
