Trevor's POV

"Yes sir, she is currently in surgery because of a ruptured spleen," my secretary informed me as I asked for updates while I headed to the hospital.

Ruptured spleen...Was she beaten up or something?

As I reached the hospital, I went straight to the operation theaters and saw Jose sitting outside the tenth one. I walked up to him and thanked him for his efforts and dismissed him so that he could have some rest.

Alana has been in surgery for about three hours now...It will all go well right?

Without thinking too much, I sat down, laid my head back and rested it against the wall behind me. I closed my eyes hoping to get some rest while waiting for Alana.

"Mr Knight? Mr Knight?" a nurse shook me awake.

I was a little frazzled but regained full composure and stood up to face Doctor Kim.

"The surgery was successful. She should be awake within the next 24 hours. During her checkups, we noticed she had a brain haemorrhage as well as many signs of physical abuse. It seems to be accumulated over the years as there are old scars as well," Doctor Kim stated.

"Abuse?" I mumbled out, feeling weird all over.

Alana was...

"Yes Mr Knight. It seems as if she has been dealing with it for a long time. It must have hurt a lot," Doctor Kim reported, "She will recover just fine now that she has proper medical treatment. Some of her bones in her legs were not properly healed after being broken as well so we are also helping her with that. She also seems to have stitched her own wounds back together."

Oh Alana...How...Who...

Doctor Kim directed me to the room Alana was resting in before leaving to treat other patients.

I walked up to her lifeless form and sat beside her, not really knowing what to do.

She would normally radiate happiness and peace although she seemed aloof at times. She was so bright...Seeing her like this made me feel all sorts of things but mostly it made me boil.

Whoever did this to her will pay.

Although I was all caught up with the anger of someone even having the heart to do this to Alana, I was still fuming at her for betraying me. I thought we loved each other...

I stepped into the toilet to get a breather, trying to grasp all that has happened in the span of less than a day.

Just then, I heard the ward door slide open.

"Why is this bitch still alive? I thought I did enough to make sure she would be dead after sending me all the information. Who sent her here?" I heard a man talking to another person.

"Sorry sir I have no idea..." the other man replied.

"Useless creature you are...Was it that Knight boy? How lovey-dovey, no wonder my daughter fell for him. How pathetic." the man said.

Ah...it was Braxton Rivers? Her own biological father? How could he...to her?...

I felt all the hair in my body stand. I was so ready to bust through the toilet door and tackle him to the ground to get revenge.

However, I kept my cool and I knew planning out a revenge was much better than just getting all bloody. At least not in front of Alana.

"Ensure that this bitch doesn't say a word to anyone. Now let's get going. What a waste of oxygen," Braxton Rivers spited.
