Watching as his sister entered the apartment, Hawks couldn't help but follow behind slowly in order to reevaluate everything that had happened in the span of two days.

The saddest part was that last week, the bird would've been overjoyed at the simple sight of his sister entering his apartment. That's how it was before anyways, the bird savoring every little minute of this fake reality.

But now seeing her walk into his safe save, Hawks couldn't help but feel a mix of conflict inside his throat. Sure, he should've just been happy that Hikari was actually alive, that she was standing right before him.

Yet the hero couldn't help but wonder what the cost was in order for this to be? What kinds of things did his little sister go through and what had changed her personality completely from the loving caring girl to a cruel villain before his very eyes.

A part of him was desperate to know, while the other part felt the complete opposite, wanting to be blind about absolutely everything.

Because that meant facing what he had done.

Sighing to himself, he watched as Hikari stepped inside the apartment before immediately going for his refrigerator, almost like she was starving. He even heard the girl mutter out a small. "Finally.."

As the girl quickly looked across the shelves, and as she turned her head Hawks could very clearly make out the purple and pink mark on the nape of her neck, mocking him almost entirely.

Feeling an unexpected rage enter his stomach, her brother couldn't help but clear his throat in order to get rid of some of his anger.

Forget the reasons that turned her into a villain right now, the thing he wanted to know the most was whatever the hell just happened with that stitched bastard and his sister.

Sadly, his small sound didn't earn the girl's attention, Hawks choosing to speak out about it anyways. "Soo, do you want to tell me what I just saw back there? About how you just let a literal serial murderer put his hands on you like that...."

That certainly got Hikari's attention, the girl pausing her hand from wandering the shelves before leaning back to glance towards her brother.

And the hero thought she'd seem at least seem remorseful or angry about the very clear assault he witnessed back at the league's hideout. She had to know that Dabi did those things just to piss him off, right? She had to think that was utterly disgusting.

Yet to the Hawks' disbelief, she only seemed to roll her eyes. "Oh please Hawks, grow up. It's not that serious..."

Dropping his mouth in utter disbelief, the hero felt all of his feathers twitch in anxiety. "What?! Come on, this is serious. He's a literal psychopath, he's killed people and you let him just play around with you?! You're better than that Hika-chan..!"

His sister shrugged her shoulders in response, obviously not taking any of his words to heart in the slightest before adding a bitter edge to them.

She couldn't help it. Wanting to act like the protective big brother after years of neglect? Oh please. It made her wanna laugh and barf all at once.

"What are you, my love coach? Last time I checked it was none of your business who I'm with. Besides, how would you know if I'm better than that, given you weren't around for almost my entire life."

A wave of hurt couldn't help but cross Hawks' face then, realizing that her words were the painful truth. He wasn't around for her entire life, so he really had no say in her relationships.

But the bird couldn't help it regardless. He was her brother after all, and that meant protecting her even if she didn't want it. Sure he wasn't around for years, but he was here right now, and he was going to stop this before it even started. He had to.
