A/N:

Can you all still see the pictures at the beginning of chapters? I'm having trouble with them disappearing on my end.

The owls swooped in at breakfast dropping the Daily Prophet everywhere.

We knew what the headlines would be.

Draco might have been prepared to put on a mask for the day and ignore the hateful looks and hushed whispers.

But not me.

I was glaring right at the source of some of them.

"His father's actually in Azkaban." The boy down the table from us whispered.

"Yeah, Black's father is one too. Only a matter of time before he goes back to You Know Who."

Another one talking about my father, who was a good man.

I could feel myself gripping my silverware tightly, my hand eventually catching on fire.

"Hey, calm down. It's fine." Draco whispered as he put his hand on my thigh.

"No, Draco. Actually it's not fine." I told him as I extinguished my hand, but I kept my glare.

"She follows him around like a lost puppy." The same boy said.

"Well maybe he's a death eater too, look how glum he looks." Ricketts said as he laughed and held the Daily Prophet up.

There was a picture of Draco on the front page.

I hadn't read it yet, but I'm sure I didn't want too.

Whatever it was couldn't be good.

"Wouldn't put it past him, he's an asshole." Ricketts continued.

That was it, that's what did my temper in, I slammed both my hands down onto the wooden table.

"And who the fuck do you think you are!" I yelled down the Slytherin table.

Not loud enough for the professors to hear of course, but loud enough for the Gryffindors to turn towards us.

"You think you're tough shit do you Ricketts? Get his fucking name out of your mouth, you don't know anything about him! You don't know how he feels! The only asshole here is you!"

"Oh yeah, you'd defend him wouldn't you, Black? You're always hiding behind him anyways. You're a weak, pathetic girl who hides behind him when you get yourself into a situation you can't handle."

"Correction, I used to be a weak, pathetic girl whose problems he had to solve." I said way too calmly.

"As I recall, the only problem he's ever had to solve for me was you. You don't by any chance.. remember being dragged into the common room and made to apologize to me?" I asked.

He didn't say a word.

"Oh right, because if you admit that.. then you have to admit he's only been an asshole towards you because you were one first."

"What I said was the truth and I meant it. Still do to this day." He said bravely.

"Oh please, is that why you asked me to the Yule ball last year?"
