Harry POV

"Don't you see? It was a ceremony, an initiation." I tried.

"Stop it Harry, I know where you're going with this. You haven't shut up about it since we saw them." Hermione answered back.

"It's happened. I was right about him all along. He's one of them and he's dragged (y/n) into it as well!" I said as I lost my temper a bit.

"One of what?" Ron asked.

"We are all upset that neither of them has written us this summer! That doesn't mean you can jump to conclusions." Hermione retorted as she slammed her rune translation book closed.

"Hello, what are you talking about?" Ron jabbed.

I had only shared my fears with Hermione, I suddenly felt guilty for not sharing with Ron.

"Harry is under the impression that Draco and (y/n) are now death eaters."

"You're barking mate. First of all, no way in hell (y/n) would ever be a death eater. Second, Draco is our friend, you really think he would betray us? Have you lost your mind? Honestly." Ron said as he chuckled a little bit.

"So what are they doing in Borgin and Burke's, browsing for furniture?" I retorted a little more sarcastic than I had meant it to be.

"Come on Harry, you know Draco is fascinated with the dark arts. Doesn't mean he's turned into a bloody death eater overnight." Ron tried.

"No, he's only had the whole summer and neither of them have owled us. But oh no, fuck me. I'm just paranoid. Besides, his father is a death eater, is it really that far fetched? Hermione saw it with her own eyes." I snapped back.

"Harry Potter!" Hermione said, clearly offended.

"What?" I asked.

"I've told you, we don't know what we saw. Have you ever stopped to think that maybe the whole world doesn't revolve around you?"

"We're not talking about me." I said sourly.

"But we are, aren't we? You're so paranoid that you think two of our closest friends, practically your sister, have turned to Voldemort's side? What, cause they're Slytherins? Or because they haven't owled us? I'm hurt too but they're in love Harry and they spent the summer together, I doubt they've been preoccupied with anything but each other." Hermione defended.

"Like you've been preoccupied with Fred? You still talk to us." I said.

"That's different... you were in the same house as we were." Hermione said as she blushed and opened her book back up.

"So neither of you believe me? Not even a tiny bit?" I asked.

"Bloody hell Harry, both of us have known (y/n) since we were babies. I think you're off your rocker a little bit to be honest."

"Whatever, I need some air." I said as I got up quickly.

Draco POV

"What just happened? Blaise?" I said as I grabbed (y/n) to shield her.

Shield her from what? I didn't know. I've been on edge since the beginning of summer break and it only gets worse.

"Don't look at me, I don't know." Blaise answered.

A small bag fell from the luggage rack and I turned around, jumping out of my seat quickly.

"Relax boys, the lights went out. That's all. Bound to happen with an old rickety train like this anyway." Pansy assured us.

"Come on, Draco. We'll be at Hogwarts before you know it. Sit down." (Y/n) said as she patted the seat.

I picked the bag up and slug it back onto the luggage rack before I sat down, (Y/n) absentmindedly ran her fingers through my hair.

"Hogwarts. What a pathetic excuse for a school. I think I'd pitch myself off the astronomy tower if I thought I had to continue on for another two years." I said.

"Ow!" (Y/n) had twisted my hair as she tensed up.

"What's that supposed to mean?" (Y/n) asked as she looked into my eyes searching for an answer.

"Let's just say I don't think you'll see me wasting my time in charms class next year." I said glumly.

Dani looked at Blaise, who snorted out a laugh.

"Amused Blaise? We'll see just who's laughing in the end."
