I'm going home

"Es war so schön mit Ihnen zu arbeiten," Mr. Müller stated and smiled. He said, 'It was so nice working with you.'

Napangiti ako kaagad. Napatingin ako sa plano na nakalapag sa mesa niya. Inangat ko ang tingin ko kay Mr. Müller na may-ari ng construction company na pinagtatrabahuhan ko. "Ich bin so froh," ani ko. It means 'I'm so glad.'

Napangiti si Mr. Müller. Tumayo ito sa kinauupuan niya.

Napaayos ako ng dark blue jacket dress ko.

"Engr. Schmidt will miss you," Mr. Müller said and laughed at his statement. I smiled a little. Marami na kasing nakakapansin sa kilos ni Gofried, kasamahan ko. Lumabas kasi kami ng isang beses, and my companions think of something about it. He is the closest friend I have here. Sa mga buwan na lumipas dito. Siya rin ang nagturo sa aking magsalita in German. Yes, he admitted something about his feelings, but I talked to him about it. We stay being friends. He's my best buddy here.

"He won't, I'm sure of that," ani ko, sabay tawa.

Mr. Müller laughed. "Okay, okay! Send my regards to Mr. Jimenez," he finally said.

Tumango ako. "I will, sir."

I will never forget my experience here. I will never forget it for lifetime.

Tinignan ko si Mr. Muller ng isang beses pagkatapos ay lumabas na ng office niya. Sumalubong na sina Godfried at iba kong kasamahan sa kompanya na 'to. We're going out tonight for some sort of celebration. Something like that.

"I am not ready for your goodbye speech, Veronica," Zelda said, one of my comrades.

"Oh, guys, don't make this hard, please?" I said, feigning the scowl.

Naramdaman ko ang kamay ni Godfried sa aking balikat.

"We'll make this hard for you, Veronica. It's your treat," ani Godfried, nakangisi.

I scowled so loud. My friends laughed so loud, too.

"I'll try to visit you in Philippines, Veronica. Please be good to me, hah?" ani Godfried.

I smiled immediately.

"It depends, okay?" sagot ko. Hinawakan ko ang door knob upang isara ang pinto. Sobrang lamig pa naman ngayon. "You go home now. You're drunk, come on!" I laughed after. He's good looking. Ang laki nga niyang tao. Hanggang dibdib niya lang ako.

Godfried stared at me. Sumeryoso ang tingin nito sa akin. Mukha siyang hindi nakainom sa estado niya ngayon. "I'm truly going to miss you. A lot. I envied the man you've been keeping in your heart since then, Veronica." He smiled a little. "Let him out, and I'll kick his ass."

Napatawa ako. "Go home now, buddy. You need some rest. You still have work tomorrow." Tinitigan ko si Godfried. Ilang minuto hanggang sa tumawa na ito. Sumabay ako ng tawa sa kanya. He never know about him, but maybe, he's a man, and he knows it. I don't know. He sensed it, maybe.

Godfried waved his hand. Tumango ito. "Ich hoffe, dass Sie Ihre Meinung ändern würde." Ngumiti ito ng maliit. Namula sandali ang pisngi nito pagkasalita. Mabilis siyang tumalikod sa akin, at naglakad na.

"Godfried, you're the best buddy I have here! Danke für alles!" I shouted. Lumingon siya sa akin. "I'm not going to say sorry for the feelings I can't return. But thank you for the friendship! I hope you'd find someone worth it." I smiled at him. "Ich bin es nicht wert." Humarap siya sa akin.
