I never once broke.
I never once told them where the women and children were, or that others helped me plan their escape.
Not even as they pinned two more ash arrows through my wings--and then my legs--and then my hands.
The pain became so unbearable I just did not even feel it anymore.
I do not know if I have been hanging here for days, for months, or years. It felt like a millennia. The hallucinations from the poison did not help--my worst nightmares coming alive in my head over and over again. I was not even sure if I was still breathing.
Maybe I was dead.
Maybe this was hell.
