Loki's POV
I hesitated as I looked back up at Stark Tower, now named the Avenger's Tower. My memories of it weren't exactly great ones. However, I did remember most of what the building was. At least, what it used to be. Izetta probably knew more about it than me, now.
"Um, Darling? What do you know about this place? And its...inhabitants?" I asked.
"I know that Tony and Pepper stay there now. The house kinda got destroyed."
"...I want to be surprised, but I'm not."
"I don't know where Steve is staying. Same with Bruce. Clint doesn't hang around, I know that. Same with Nat, I'm pretty sure. And I don't know anybody other than that. Plus, I think Steve and Nat go on missions for S.H.I.E.L.D. a lot. Don't worry, I'll get us in and out. Besides, Tony trusts me completely! And you can disguise yourself. No big deal."
I sighed as she transformed and I disguised myself as one of the old personas I'd had when I'd come to Midgard once before. She flew us up, looking around. We headed inside after she dreamed that the coast was clear.
We walked inside and I looked around. It had certainly changed a bit. It seemed a lot fancier than before and it was clearly meant to house more people than just Stark. Nobody seemed to be in the building. It was vacant.
"This is strange. I thought more, um, staff would be here," I said, walking over to the bar area and looking over the drink assortments.
"Tony is busy a lot. So is Pepper. I bet the tower is empty more often than a lot of people would expect." She glanced over. "Hey! Hands off the booze!" I quickly retracted my hand, awkwardly folding them together. She sighed, shaking her head at me.
"What? I was merely seeing what you Midgardians have."
"Yeah, yeah. Come on, I need you to keep an eye out. If anyone's coming, we're gonna have to act fast to hide your ass." I was less than amused with her wording, but I walked over and did as she said.
"I doubt there's anyone here. We would've alerted someone by now."
"Not always. As I said, I'm trusted. I shouldn't be someone setting off alarms."
"Yes, but your return to Earth would be noticed."
"I guess. But it's better to be safe than sorry, hmm? Even you know that one." My face fell as she said that.
"Ha ha, hilarious..." I grumbled. The machine powered on and a voice spoke through it as she placed her hand on the surface there that had a handprint shape on it.
"Voice activation required." It was a male voice. I faintly recognized it.
"Tailwind."
"Welcome, Miss Izetta."
"Heh, hey Jarvis. How's it going?"
"It's been well with the Tower's residents. It's a pleasure to see that you've returned home. Shall I contact Mr. Stark? I'm sure he'd be thrilled to see you."
"No! Uh, no, let's not tell Tony I'm back, okay? I'm just visiting but, um...m-my gear is outdated. Can you give me the latest model?"
"Of course, Ma'am. Mr. Stark has created many new suits for himself. There are a few designs for yourself. Would you like to look through the suit gallery? I'd be happy to rebuild whatever model you need."
"Oh. Yeah, sure. Pull them up." A plethora of suit designs showed up as a hologram that she could scroll through. Her mouth dropped. "Okay, why are there so many!?"
