02 | 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐘

HOUSE PARTY

The rest of the school day was a blur. All it took was your math quiz to make you feel drained for the rest of the day. Tae, on the other hand, was just waiting for the day to end so she could start getting ready for Oikawa's house party.

You regret making the promise go, but something in you felt that you almost had no choice, especially after how Oikawa and Iwaizumi treated you in your homeroom. It left you feeling confused, and you didn't know what to expect when you would eventually see them at the third year bash.

Getting ready was another challenge you had to put up with. Iwaizumi's voice constantly replayed in your head. He said to wear something nice, and the way he said it gave away that he desired something.... that he was anticipating your presence.

You didn't want to assume that the ace was flirting with you. After all, you never really spoke to him before.

Since it was just a house party, you decided to keep your outfit clean and simple. You wore a short black dress paired with white sneakers. Your hair was down, which framed your face while you had light makeup on. The least you could do was put in a little bit of effort. After all, Iwaizumi made it clear that he had expectations for you.

Wear something nice, he said to you earlier in the day. His voice was enough to send a chill running down your spine.

You and Tae arrive at Oikawa's house―the captain somehow left out the fact that his house was actually a mansion―and the premises were already crowded with people. There was a fountain in his front yard with different coloured lights shining through the water. Some cars were parked in Oikawa's driveway and on the road, blocking parts of the street.

It seemed as though all the third years did show up to this party, and that fact alone didn't make the situation any easier for you.

"Stop being so tense." Tae nudges your side. "The place looks big from the outside, but once we're inside I bet it'll feel a lot smaller with all the people here."

You nod your head, already feeling a bit claustrophobic after hearing Tae's comment. You and your friend enter Oikawa's house, and you're greeted with loud music and the scent of sweaty bodies. People lined up the walls, and they were either drinking out of their red party cups or talking to each other.

People were sitting on the grand staircase that faced the front door, and they watched you and Tae enter the house. Tae grabs your arm and leads you through the sea of people. You keep your eyes down, hoping that you wouldn't have to stay at the party for too long.

All you wanted to do was let Oikawa and Iwaizumi see you so they knew that you actually came to their party. Then, you would go home and pretend like this night didn't happen at all.

Tae brings you into the kitchen. There are cans of soda and various alcoholic beverages in a cooler. There is also a pitcher with red juice, along with a stack of those red party cups. Tae takes a cup and fills it with the red punch.

You knew better not to drink anything that was being served at the party. The last thing you wanted for yourself was to end up drunk in a mansion full of third years.

"You came!" Oikawa walks into the kitchen. He raises his red cup in the air as he eyes scan your body. You cross your arms over your chest, feeling slightly uncomfortable under his intense glare. "You look... damn. You look hot."
