Chapter 47- Duel between Sisters

3rd Person POV

Wave had eventually come to after being knocked out by Kurome. He had bolted out of the capital and tried his best to track down his comrade, but she was more than that. He was hoping, praying, that he'd get there in time before anything serious happened. But as he continued to run, Kurome was already waiting for her sister.

Within the ruins of an old temple, she waited for Akame. Alexander had already arrived, hiding amongst the forest that surrounded this old site. It was then that Akame arrived, and saw Kurome waiting atop a ruined pillar.

Akame: Kurome

Kurome: "Big sister, you're late" she said playfully as she looked at her sister

Akame: Actually you're early, but in truth we're both here on time

Kurome: Heh, so who's hiding in the trees? I can feel their presence, it's familiar

Akame: He's here to observe, and he said you'd be okay with that

Kurome: Oh?

Akame: It's Alexander

Kurome: "Ohhh..... then yeah, I don't mind him watching us" she said as she dropped down from the pillar

Akame: He's made it clear that he understands that we'll be settling this on our own terms

Kurome: "Good, and I brought these with me as well. Want one?" she said while taking out a small bag of cookies

Akame: Sure

Akame smiled before going to sit atop a ruined wall with her sister. Alexander was behind a tree, observing the two while also making sure nobody interrupted. But he already knew that someone was coming, he knew Wave was racing against the clock to try and find Kurome. When he eventually did show up, Alexander would make sure to keep him calm and ensure he didn't interfere.

As the two sisters observed the night sky and ate cookies, they enjoyed the serenity of calmness. It was nostalgic for them, for this place itself was familiar to them. Yet, it was almost strange that this was a moment they weren't fighting. Then again, it's been so long since they've been at peace with each other.

Kurome: This takes me back to whenever we'd meet back up after missions. We'd always come here to train

Akame: We were inseparable back then, you'd drag me along to bathe with you as well

Kurome: Drag? Hardly, that was mostly you just wanting to tag along sis! You even went to bed the same time I did

Alexander (thoughts): I underestimated their relationship it seems, I did not see that coming

Akame: We had the weight of the world on our shoulders back then, we still do now in a way. But even so, having you there alongside me back then made it all the worthwhile.....

Kurome: Yeah.....

Akame: Reminiscing like this sure is calming

Alexander (thoughts): Oh boy, here we go.....

Kurome: "Let's stay together from here on out as well..... sis" she said while raising her sheathed Yatsufusa

Akame: Fine by me, if you come with me..... we can go back to the way things used to be

Kurome: You never cease to amaze me sis. In your current situation, you're in no place to be making demands.....

Alexander (thoughts): Ah, she still has the dread that she can use. No psychic influence at all, considering they're both blanks.....
