Vandenberg's POV

I had been walking down the halls of the Imperial Palace to Doctor Erickson's lab. The reason I was heading there was to inform him of my latest orders. General Alexander had tasked me with founding a new regiment of soldiers before he left.

He had stated such in a report he left for me. There was the Death Corps regiment and then standard army at the moment. Now I was to build a new regiment from the ground up. The Death Corps are masters of attrition, entrenchment, and sieges. It was time to found something based on mobile warfare.

Erickson's inventions would help with that. First I had to notify him of my orders from the general. I was also being repositioned into this new regiment. The Death Corps hardly needed me anymore, if anything I only kept them from throwing their lives away needlessly.

I did train around three commissars to look over the regiment though. Speaking of which, I should convince the general to put his father's name into the regiment. The Death Corps of- no even better! The Death Korps of Krieg!

As I snapped back to reality, I saw Erickson's daughter. She was drawing something as the man himself then came into view.

Erickson: Commissar Vandenberg! How may I be of service?

Vandenberg: I just wish to inform you that I've been tasked with founding a new regiment. Orders from General Alexander Marius

Erickson: Ah, I see but there's something else isn't there?

Vandenberg: Yes, I want to base them off your vehicles. Mainly the tanks and such

Erickson: That can be done, though the factories here cannot do such a thing yet. They are too busy supplying the Death Corps with weaponry and tanks

Vandenberg: Damn, well recruitment of men won't be as easy either

Erickson: There could be a way to fix this problem

Vandenberg: Really?

He nodded as something approached us from the side. It was another one of his inventions, a servo skull. That's what he called it, many people would probably be freaked out by it. But me? I found it to be immensely useful.

He took out the paper that was coming from it and read it

He took out the paper that was coming from it and read it. He smiled before looking back at me.

Erickson: When I was translating that book for Martin, I stumbled across something. A page that spoke of a Dark Age of Technology and mentioned something called a hive city

Vandenberg: Really? Did it elaborate at all on both those things?

Erickson: Not so much on the dark age, though that part seems self explanatory

Vandenberg: What of this..... hive city?

Erickson: It is said to be a ginormous city that reaches past the skies. Said to house millions to perhaps even billions of people!
