Chapter 9- Kill the Three

Alexander's POV

We were all gathered in the main room with Najenda. Supposedly she had an announcement to make, I saw my father next to her.

Najenda: Everyone, I'm afraid I have some bad news. General Esdeath has defeated the Northern Tribes and has returned to the capital

Everyone remained silent as Najenda took out a cigarette. My father stepped up and began speaking with a solemn look on his face.

Father: It's as I stated, she is far more powerful than what most of you have seen

Najenda: Leone, I would like for you to make your way to the capital and find out what she's up to

Leone: You got it! I've been wondering what that chick is like

Najenda was about to place her cigarette in her mouth but hesitated. She put it down before looking up at Leone.

Najenda: She's a disturbed psychopath obsessed with killing. Don't be careless

I looked towards Leone who had a fierce smile on her face. As I mentally facepalm myself my father spoke up when he noticed her arrogance.

Father: Get that damn smile off your face

I saw the others all slightly shocked at what my father said. The only one who wasn't was Najenda and of course myself.

Alexander: You're underestimating her Leone

Leone: Uh......

Father: That woman is an absolute demon. If you believe Ogre was that you were sorely mistaken, she is far stronger than you. If you are spotted or captured she will use god knows what torture methods on you. I will say this once, do not engage her

Leone: Alright........

Alexander: Anything else Najenda?

Najenda: "Yes, ever since Esdeath's arrival in the capital there's been an increase in assassinations of Imperial officials" she said lighting her cigarette before smoking it

Father: As of today, 4 officers and 61 bodyguards have been killed

Alexander: Damn.......

They're moving quicker than I thought

Najenda: "What concerns me are these flyers they've been scattering around that claim Night Raid is responsible for the homicides" she said while holding up a flyer

When I looked at it I noticed it had the symbol of Night Raid at the top. On it was also written "Punishment from Heaven by Night Raid", what a damn joke.

But I wasn't surprised that people would think this was us, considering those officials had great bodyguards no doubt.

Bulat: "So they're trying to stick the whole thing on us huh?" he said leaning in to read

Tatsumi: But doesn't this sort of stuff always get straightened out? Those posters don't really look all that legit

Najenda: That's how most people felt about it at first, but now public opinion is starting to change

Tatsumi: But why?

Alexander: I take it each victim had very good bodyguards?

Father: That's right, all of them had first rate guards when they were killed. No group of ordinary thugs could overpower them

Mine: So basically these guys are going after the big fish on purpose, only a few people could pull that off

Akame: That would only be us or someone equally skilled
