Chapter Eleven

Outrage

"Kailangan mo lang ipahinga ang paa mo't magiging maayos din 'yan sa lalong madaling panahon." wika ni Lupitha.

She's one of the staffs who help. Sumali siya sa challenge pero itong ginagawa niya ngayon ay parte rin ng training niya. I smiled at her. My foot is better now.

"Hindi ka pa ba babalik sa academy?" tanong ko.

"Oh no, marami pa akong gagawin e. Nauna na si Lunarex dahil napagod ito." she said.

Mukhang natutulog na 'yon sa dorm ngayon. Napabuntong hininga ako at tumayo sa bleacher. I suddenly have the urged to go to have some rest.

"Ah, so I will see you tomorrow then,"

Ngumiti siya sa'kin. "Yeah, see you!" she answered.

Maingat akong naglakad pabalik sa academy upang magpahinga. My body is all sore and rest is the remedy. Paika-ika akong dumadaan sa mga ibang estudyanteng ginagamot rin ng mga staff.

Pagkarating ko sa hallway ay abala ang mga staff at iilang medics na nakakasalamuha ko sa daan. They're quite busy that they can't seem to mind my presence. Isang staff na nakamask at naka-laboratory gown ang hindi ko sinasadyang mabangga. May dala siyang kahon na ang laman ay mga bote ng gamot na malapit ko ng mabasag.

"I'm sorry," mahinang paumanhin ko sa kanya subalit mukhang nagmamadali itong makaalis pero kalmado lang niya akong tinanguan.

I was struck by the way her eyes gaze to me. It's very familiar and eccentric. She proceed to walk and went out of the hallway. Tumindig ang balahibo ko na nakatayo parin. Something's not right.

I finally went inside of our dorm, still confuse. Nakakunot ang noo ko habang may inaalala. Maybe I'm just imagining things. Dahil siguro ito sa pagod na dinarama ko ngayong araw.

I glance at Lunarex on the top of the double deck sleeping while snoring. Lihim akong napangiti dahil sa nakita. She must've been through out a lot this day that she goes to sleep straight ahead after the challenge. Pero sa kabila ng mga munting ngiti ko ay mapawi lang ito. I hope tomorrow will turn out just fine. Humiga ako sa aking kama at napabuntong hininga. Even if I want to assure myself despite of my overthinking, it bothers me.

Marahan kong pinikit ang aking mga mata. Hoping it will close the windows of my galled mind.

"Oh my god! What do we do now!" a furious voice wake me up from my sleep.

I shift my torpid body to find comfort in spite of the noises.

"Aleera? Is she awake? Should w-we wake her up?!" I moaned as the sound repeated.

"Calm down, will you?"

Naalimpungatan ako sa mga boses na bumabagabag sa aking tulog. Seryoso kong tinignan sina Lupitha at Lunarex. They still on their pajamas and Lupitha's curly hair is messy.

"What's all this fuss?" I hoarsely began.

I'm still sore and my foot is slightly aching. They're both standing uneasy and anxious manner. Is something wrong? I yawned and sat on my bed.

"A-Aleera," Lupitha quavered.

From this moment, I eyed them with a serious glare. Parang may gusto silang sabihin na masamang balita. I was hoping that this day will turn out to be okay. Pero sa kutob ko palang ay may nangyaring hindi maganda.

"There's an outrage happened last night." seryosong sambit ni Lunarex. "All of the third and fourth year students are in coma. Kaninang madaling araw nadiskubre ng mga ilang staff. Naabala ang mga guro dahil wala ni isa sa kanila ang gumising."
