Chapter Fifteen

Revelation

Umuulan ngayon sa labas ng academy. When the thunder rumbles, it created a striking lightning outside through the high window. I graze my shoulders as I watch the marvelous violet blue lightning in the dark sky.

Today's the departure of the chosen cadets in North and South Erthomia. Ito ang kauna-unahang launch para sa early mission. Abala ang mga administer para sa preparation ng sasabak. Naatasan kami ni Lupitha at Lunarex na magbantay sa mga na-coma.

I gaze the unconscious students laying on each beds. They line up vertically to the right and to the left. So sobrang dami nila ay limang malalaking kwarto ang kailangan. The staffs always monitor their gradual healing.

I scrunitize the screen as we check every monitor of the students. Ganon din ang ginagawa ng kasama ko. May mga staff din sa ibang rooms para bantayan ang mga ito. Security camera are everywhere in sight.

Tinignan ko isa-isa ang mga mukha nila hanggang sa mamukhaan ko ang kapatid ni Lew na si Lax. He's pale, all of them. Last time I saw him, he's smiling full of colors in his face.

"Parang natutulog lang 'no?" Lupitha remarks as she strolls to check the monitors.

We wore mask and ppe in the medical facility to ensure safety measurements. They are indeed just like sleeping while we are shaking for the next mission. May nauna nang pinadala sa Erthomia. After one week, they'll return with or without completing the mission. Sa susunod na linggo, may isasabak na namang pitong cadets.

We're looking forward for tomorrow's next obstacle course relay race by group. Another hectic schedule I guess. Tahimik naming chinicheck ang monitor. Suddenly, one of the staff swing by.

"Can I borrow one of you?" he asked.

Mukhang abala sina Lunarex at Lupitha kaya ako ang lumapit sa kanya. He's wearing a lab coat while glancing at the paper his holding. Tumikhim ako ng makalapit sa pintuan.

"I need you to check the other room. Hindi ko pa natapos ang room na 'yon kaya ikaw na ang mag-check. May kailangan pa akong i-submit," inayos niya ang kanyang salamin bago tumingin sa kanyang pambisig na relo.

"Okay po, sir." I said.

"Right. Babalik din ako pagkatapos nito."

He went after he said that. Nagpaalam muna ako sakanila bago umalis ng tuluyan upang puntahan ang isang room na hindi pa natapos i-check. Fluorescents from the ceiling bright the corridor as I turn to that room.

Pagkarating ko sa pinto ay sinu-wipe ko ang card na dala ko. It was a card from the staff that I take over with. You can't enter the rooms if you don't have access card. Ang mga staff at mangasiwa lang ang mayroon noon.

Tumunog ang green light sa pinto hudyat na pwede akong pumasok. Pagpasok ko roon ay may nakalagay na screen sa vanity table kaya kinuha ko 'yun at pinagpatuloy ang pag-check sa monitor ng mga pasyente.

After minutes of checking, there's a small crash in the other room. Parang may nabasag na kung ano roon. Narinig ko ito dahil sa tahimik ng lugar. I pause for a second, trying to eavesdrop. Wala na akong narinig kaya nagtataka na ako. I crease my forehead. That's strange.

Naglakad ako sa pintuan at nilapag ang screen sa vanity table at lumabas. What was that noise? Hindi kaya may nagising na na estudyante?

Tumunog ang pinto pagkalabas ko. It's a sign that the door is lock again. Inayos ko ang mask at gloves sa kamay. Tinanaw ko ang walang katao-taong corridor. I noticed that the fluorescent light near the other room is glitching. I slowly crept near the other room. My guts has been telling me that something is not right. Every step the light is glitching making my adrenaline rush for some sort of reason.
