Pleased with the outcome of the situation, I took the first step into the hall, keen on making my way over to where Taeyong held the SVT member Jun. With a head held high and a posture as confident as ever, my footsteps matched my racing heart, hitting every single beat almost perfectly.
I'd never expected to get an adrenaline rush out of acting... Well, it was SVT after all and the fact probably had added fuel to the fire.

The8, or better said Minghao, must be really important to the other or else I don't think I would've gotten an answer. If it wasn't for him, my little outburst probably wouldn't have worked in the slightest.
Unexpectedly, I started wandering off in my own mind, making up countless different scenarios of how everything could have ended instead.

The quiet steps behind me went unnoticed as I continued to stride forward, not realizing that a certain brunette did his best to quickly catch up with me. Before I knew, he gently pulled me aside and, as always, he had the effect of making my heart skip a beat.

"How are you feeling?" Hyuck softly mumbled, not wanting anyone to hear us talk. I didn't answer immediately, slightly looking at him in bewilderment without understanding what he meant. It all ended the way we wanted it to so there was no need to suddenly check up on me.

"Why are you asking?" I spoke exactly my thoughts. "We got what we wanted. Soon and we don't have to worry about this gang shit anymore."

"You are right, 'soon'." He looked me with love and concern, something I've gotten used to but at the same time not really. It looked like he had to process what had happened a minute ago. "We're still at the point where we have to worry about ourselves, that's why I'm asking you how you are."

Brooding, my eyes wandered to my feet, shoulders shrugging swiftly while I bit my lip uncertain.

"I'm fine", I mumbled a bit quieter than expected while I hoped my face wouldn't look too bothered.
Did it work? Yeah, no.
Of course, I felt a little uneasy...
Nothing was over yet and the thought that two of these bastards would stay here for a while caused my muscles to tense up more than usual. I hated them after all.

My attentive boyfriend caught glimpse of the sudden change of expression and as if it was a routine he'd done a hundred times, his hand went up to brush a few black strands behind my ear. Without realizing it, I inhaled deeply as his warmth flooded my cheeks, the feeling of security quickly rushing through my body.

I was glad that even though our surroundings were constantly changing and we were putting ourselves into one dangerous position after another, I could always rely on Hyuck. I felt at peace whenever we had time for us alone and since it wasn't as much as we hoped for, I valued every single second.

The brunette somehow read my mind, his warm hands dropping from my cheeks and instead wandering down to my slightly trembling fingertips. It was no difficulty to see he was worried about me, but there wasn't much to do to make any of us feel more at ease.
