Finally

An actual chapter

Wahoo :)

I just rewatched 'The Sign of Three' and had a million and one ideas whilst watching it. I'll most likely write more than one chapter about this episode because I loved it so much. Even though there was a literal straight wedding at the centre of this episode, it was one of the gayest things I've ever seen.

Legit. Both John and Sherlock told each other that they love each other indirectly and Sherlock's speech is so iconic and adorable. Their hug is so sweet and I love Sherlock trying to find out John's middle name.

Also

The photographer taking photos of Greg having a drink by himself is the fucking saddest thing I've ever seen. I love Greg so much and just want to see this poor guy happy. And like he wanted to arrest the robbers at the start of the episode and bloody Sherlock was like 'Me DuMb. HeLp Me WrItE sPeEcH'. And then Sherlock can't even remember his first name. Greg is so tolerant ohmigod.

Respect for Greg.

Sherlock's P.O.V

John and I stumbled up the stairs to 221B, and I couldn't believe that he was back home with me. He and Mary's apartment building had some kind of water problem, so they both had to relocate for about 3 months. Mary stayed at her sister's house. Her sister only had one spare room, with a single bed. John said that he didn't want to sleep on the floor or a couch for 3 months, so he stayed with me. I liked it better that way.

He and Mary had been married for a fortnight now, and he'd been staying with me for half of that time. I had apologised profusely for leaving the wedding early. He said it was fine. But, when he asked why I left, I didn't respond. He didn't push it. We trusted each other too much.

"What happened after I left the reception?" I questioned as he shoved open our front door.

"What do you mean?"

"No fights broke out? No one unexpected or unwelcome showed up? Nothing that I would've found amusing?"

He laughed. "No... not really. I mean, someone I didn't expect showed up about 20 minutes after you left, but other than that, nothing you would've been sad to miss."

"Who showed up?" I was intrigued now. I was always interested in what my blogger had to tell me.

"You wouldn't believe me."

"I'll always believe you. Always."

He smiled warmly, and we made our way to our arm chairs. We sat opposite one another, and he kicked off his shoes. I stuck my long legs out towards his chair and pushed them against the side of it.

"You really wanna know?"

"Yep."

"Okay."

You'd just left when Greg got into a shouting match with his wife. Well, ex-wife now. They aren't divorced yet, but they're going through the process. Greg was drunk when you told him his ex cheated on him. He forced himself not to believe you. For the sake of his kids.

He found out that she had cheated on him again, and when he asked her about it, the fact that she didn't deny it crushed him.

I could see it on his face. He was across the room from me, and I didn't want to creepily stare at him, but I watched from a distance, making sure he was okay. They were yelling, loud enough to hear each other over the music, but quiet enough for no one else to know what they were saying.

I remember looking away to talk to some of Mary's family. I looked over to Greg again, and she was gone. He was sitting at a table by himself, drowning his sorrows in alcohol. I wanted to go over to him and comfort him, but I was stuck in a very long conversation with Mary's sister and best friend. I had no idea what they were talking about, but I pretended that I was listening.
