I like to think that this isn't an issue on my page. But I've seen some comments and have been meaning to say this for a while.
I'm a queer and asexual writer. The characters I make or write about/around are usually queer because that is my writing comfort zone - and because i grew up on pretty much only straight media so I'm making up for that. If you sexualise or fetishize the stories I write, you are welcome to leave. Go do that somewhere else.
if you aren't a queer person who's been in a same gender relationship, you probably don't understand how big of a problem this is. I have a boyfriend. People CANNOT HELP but calling us cute all the time. We only ever let our friends do that. It makes me really uncomfortable when other people, especially straight girls, call us cute or comment on when we hold hands, hug, etc. I tend to not kiss him in public because of the comments we get. I understand that most people don't mean it in a bad way, but it can make people really uncomfortable. Users have commented things on my books basically saying that they wish I'd write sex scenes or make things 'more gay'. Go read someone else's stuff because I'm only going to write what I'm comfortable writing. This has only happened a few times on my page, but I've seen it all over this sight. Go read smut if you want to. But I've stated many times that I won't write stuff like that. I don't want to come off as harsh, but i want this to stop and i want to catch it before it continues. Ask anyone queer person. I guarantee you that they've been called 'cute' or 'adorable' or 'couple goals' when they've been in same gender relationships. People don't say that about straight couples, and if they do, they don't mean it in a way that 'ooohhh i wanna see you guys kiss because that'd be hot'. You know how straight men fetishize lesbians? Yeah. Queer guys get it too.
For the most part, i love the people who have supported my stuff. but i don't want to see this stuff ever again please.
