Yeah so this will be actually sad. I finally committed to something angsty. Yeah it has a mostly happy ending, but it'll be sad. This is also the closest thing to s3xual that I'll write, and it's because of the lyrics in the song I'm using. New territory so I hope it's not too terrible. I did kinda get second-hand embarrassment towards the end of the lyrics but oh well. Also I didn't expect it to be this long heh

3rd Person P.O.V

Opening his eyes, Greg squinted, adjusting to the morning light. He looked around the room, surveying the surroundings. He felt a weight on his chest and a pain in his head. A throbbing, unwavering pain that could only mean one thing; he had a hangover.

He had no idea what the weight on his chest was, so he decided to take a chance and look down. Maybe it was his soon-to-be ex-wife? Maybe they had reconciled the night before? Not really possible, he thought. They were going through a divorce, why would she stay at his tiny, crappy apartment?

He finally looked down, and felt a million things all at once. Confusion, happiness, shock, more pain, sadness, more confusion and finally, he felt the full force of his headache.

There, asleep peacefully upon Greg's chest, was one of the most powerful men in all of London. A 'minor' position in the British Government. Mycroft Holmes. Was here. With Greg. In Greg's house. More specifically, in Greg's bedroom and in his bed.

Please wake up... I need to talk to you... please.

Greg gingerly ran his fingers through Myc's hair, smiling when he felt the younger man stir. Please look up. Please remember who I am.

A few memories from the previous night came flooding back to Greg.

First, he asked Myc out to have a drink. They met at a humble bar, not too fancy but not too grim. A perfect balance of the two of them.

They had known each other professionally for about 4 years. Greg had known Sherlock for 5, and John had been around for 2. Myc approached John when he first moved into 221B. He asked if John could keep an eye on Sherlock. The stubborn doctor said no. So, Myc turned to another person who was close to his brother; Greg Lestrade. At first, Greg was hesitant. But, after Myc informed Greg of Sherlock's history of drugs, Greg felt that he couldn't say no.

They had only known each other personally for the last year out of 4. It hadn't taken Greg long to question his intentions with the other man. He felt insanely guilty of course. He was married. But, after his wife cheated on him at least 5 times, he presented her with divorce papers. It had taken a long time to get her to sign them. Eventually, she gave in. Greg figured that she just wanted to keep him dangling for as long as she could. Possibly see how faithful he would be after he found out about her numerous affairs. He had stayed loyal to her, even if it killed him.

Until this night.

He and Myc had both gotten quite drunk, and even though Greg's memories of the previous night were hazy, he could remember some things. He knew that they were at a bar, he knew that they had gotten drunk (hence the headache), and he could remember being kissed. Most likely by Myc, given the state they currently shared.

Myc eventually opened his eyes and blinked a few times. He gently rubbed his eyes, then looked up at Greg. He smiled and lay back down on Greg's chest. Greg felt his heart nearly burst. Someone hadn't smiled at him like that in a long time.

Hey, kid... Good morning

You look like an angel

I don't remember when we fell asleep

Greg couldn't help but smile down at the beautiful man that lay contently on his bare chest. He pushed the guilt aside for a second, before it hit him like a tidal wave.
