So because school is ramping up and because of my computer problems, chapters for this book and 'No Left Brain' will be shorter than usual, unless I feel like making them longer -_-

Mycroft's P.O.V

Even after being at Hogwarts for 6 years, I had made no effort to make any friends. My little brother, (Sherlock, 1st year) and his best friend (John, 3rd year), constantly followed me around. I didn't particularly mind. It was my way of making sure my little brother was safe and taken care of. John seemed nice and good to my brother.

I hoped Sherlock would be sorted into Slytherin, which is my house. That way, I could keep an eye on him as often as possible. Unfortunately, he was sorted into Ravenclaw. I wasn't really all that surprised. He is ridiculously intellectual, so Ravenclaw was the perfect fit for him.

John was a Gryffindor. Made sense for him, too. He was a headstrong young boy. Brave, strong, capable. I liked that my brother was always with him. I tried to find out who was in my brother's year and house. He only mentioned one girl; Molly Hooper. She was a 2nd year Ravenclaw and liked Sherlock a lot. She was a sweet, kind girl who treated my brother very well. I immediately knew that she had a crush on him.

I didn't know many people in my year. A lot of them seemed boring or bitchy. I didn't care for any of them.

Well, all except for one.

He was tall, just shorter than me, and well built. He had tanned skin that was peppered with freckles. He had beautiful eyes; a deep, butterscotch brown with an emerald green rimming the outside of his irises. He had short, side-swept brown hair and light stubble on his jawline. He had a gorgeous smile; it slightly showed his teeth, dimples on his cheeks, and tiny creases on the outer corners of his eyes. He had a lovely laugh and spoke louder than most people. He had some undiagnosed learning problems that no one ever spoke of. He was a Hufflepuff. A gorgeous, funny, perfect Hufflepuff named Gregory Lestrade. That I was hopelessly in love with.

Obviously, we were in different houses and didn't sit at the same table for meals. But, he and I had formed a friendship regardless. We would practice dueling in the courtyard, read funny old spellbooks in the library, and explore the grounds as much as possible. I never used to go outside before I met him, and his older sister made sure he never left the courtyard. But, she graduated years ago. We became friends a few months after she left, just over 3 years ago now.

He was funny, charismatic, sweet, kind, a bit odd, and quite interesting. I liked him. I liked him in every way, shape, or form. I liked him as my best friend. I liked him in a romantic way. I liked him in a sexual way. I wished I could tell him how I felt about him. But I never could. He was such a beautiful, innocent boy and I wouldn't ruin what we had.

"I nearly broke my wand the uver day." Gregory grumbled, his lisp showing through when he was annoyed. "Bloody Anderson took ma book offa me and I nearly snapped it in arf when he took ma book. It was the one you signed and gave ta me."

"Did you get it back?"

"Yeah. Wouldn't let that knob ed had it for too long."

"Good." I chuckled. "Is your wand still intact?"

"Yep. I wanted to just fuckin-" Gregory used to wand to mime stabbing someone, and he screwed up his face. I couldn't help but burst out laughing. He soon joined me, and we both burst into a fit of giggles. I had almost forgotten how to smile until he came into my life.

"Gregory?"

"Yep?"

"Can I ask advice on something?"

"I mean, I'm not the best at advice, but ya can ask if ya want."

I was beginning to sweat. I was extremely nervous, thinking about what I was going to say. I would need to choose my words carefully.

"I uh... I think I might have... feelings for someone I know, and I've never felt things like this before, and I figured you had, so I thought I'd ask you. I guessed you'd know more than me."

"Oh. Okay." His smile had faded a bit, but he looked like he was trying to hide it. "I guess I've had a crush before... but I don't know how to help you. I haven't told my crush I like him, so I don't know."

"Oh..." Wait. Him? Gregory liked a boy? He never told me that...

"Yeah." He smiled shyly, scratching the back of his neck. "I'm not brave enough, I guess ya could say."

"Neither am I, I suppose..."

"But like if you told someone you liked em, they'd be flattered! It's you!"

"What do you mean, 'it's me'?"

He sighed and rolled his eyes. He shifted closer to me and reached out his hand. He gingerly placed his hand on the back of my neck and looked into my eyes.

"Because... you're amazing. You're so smart. You always look perfect and I... I think anyone would be lucky to be with you..."

My whole face turned bright red and I looked anywhere but his adorable face. His cheeks, ears, and nose were dusted pink and he looked down at his lap. But... his hand was still on my neck. I tentatively lifted my hand to his chin and raised his face. We looked at each other intensely for a moment, before he slowly leaned forward.

"Can I kiss you?" He whispered shyly. I nodded equally as shyly.

He turned his head to the side and put his other hand on my hip. We were sitting in the corner of the courtyard, and neither of us cared that anyone could see us. Students and teachers alike watched on or turned away as I let Gregory kiss me.

After a moment, I reacted, kissing back with as much love and kindness as I could. I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him closer to me. At that moment, I didn't even realise that people had started cheering. Obviously not the teachers. They didn't care. But many students started clapping and cheering. Someone wolf-whistled too. Once we broke apart, we started laughing and I buried my face in his shoulder.

I looked back up at his face and nearly passed out upon seeing his gorgeous smile. His dimples were prominent once more, and I could see the crinkles by his eyes. I leaned forward and gently kissed that smile. That smile that I loved so much.
