Sherlock's P.O.V

"Can you believe you're about to graduate?" Molly squealed, jumping around her kitchen. "Top marks at university and you're graduating in only two years!"

"You sound like my mother!" I groaned, leaning against the sink.

"Good!" She laughed, running over and hugging me. She practically squeezed the life out of me and picked me up, and I had to basically beg her to put me down.

After talking and laughing with Molly for a while, I said I had to leave. I had to go back to campus and pack up the rest of my stuff. I couldn't believe I had only been there for two years. I had enrolled when I was 19. It was a bit late in my opinion, but I wanted to spend more time with my family before I left. Mostly because I thought my course would take four years. Now, I was 21 and already leaving. Graduation was only five days away.

"You can't leave yet, Sher!" Molly whined. I chuckled and sat down on her futon couch.

"Fine. I'll stay a while longer. But not too long!" I warned.

I was sitting on a futon couch
In a far-off town where the desert meets the sea

Molly stayed in her kitchen and I stayed on the couch, and she asked me more about school. I looked down her hallway for a split second, and I'm immensely glad that I did.

You were only wrapped in a towel when you walked out the bathroom of my friend's house

A really, really hot guy that I recognised stepped out of Molly's bathroom.

"Oh, Sher. This is my cousin, John. I think he goes to your school."

Oh I feel I've met you before

"Oh, yeah! We have a few Psychology courses together!" John smiled, running a hand through his soaked hair. "Didn't realise Molly had a mate over. I'll go change and join you guys." And with that, he crossed the hall and went into Molly's spare bedroom.

Something inside me is trying to remember a story

I had had a crush on John Watson since day one. We had three classes together, and I was instantly in love with him. I had tried to shove those thoughts away because I thought he was straight. We didn't really know each other, and I just casually avoided him for a while.

I had almost forgotten about the crush.

Oh I think I've loved you, I've loved you before
Something is tugging my sleeve like a secret whispered from the future

I couldn't forget it anymore if I tried. He walked back out of Molly's spare room, dressed in a loose pair of shorts and a sports jersey. He smiled at both of us and walked over to the couch. He sat down beside me and we shared a smile.

Mine was awkward. His was confident and beautiful.

Maybe this is us now
Maybe this is us

John and I actually became friends after that day. We got to know each other really well, and I learned that he was, in fact, the greatest person in the world. We graduated together, him being two years older than me and having successfully completed his courses. We learned everything there was to know about each other, including our respective sexualities.

"So, are you straight, gay, something else...?" He asked, clearly trying not to offend me.

"I'm gay, John. Thank you for asking."

"Oh, cool. And, you're welcome."

"What about you? Molly mentioned you had a girlfriend once."

"Bisexual. Men and women."
