"I'm telling you Martin, this isn't a good idea," Ava said. She was sitting at her small dining room table, staring at her partner. Sergio and Andres had just made another appearance to their apartment, questioning the heist yet again. Ava wasn't interested in the slightest. They weren't wealthy, but they were doing okay in their lives. At times they were behind on maybe one bill, but they never had shut-offs, and they were always paid, even if not on time. Ava had a steady career as a nurse, and Martin worked construction so they didn't struggle.         "You won't even give them a chance to explain the heist. Every time they mention it you shut it down." Martin was for the heist. He wanted to be free of jobs and the burdens of struggling. He didn't ever want to be in the position that he was in when he was younger. Ava was adopted into a family that was well off. She had Christmas and Thanksgiving, and she never knew what it was like to struggle. Martin, however, came from a very poor family. His parents were both killed while he was very young, and he was raised by his grandmother. She tried her best, but it was hard to control an out-of-control child, especially when in poverty. Ava understood where Martin came from, but she never could relate to it the way that she wished she could. She wished she could understand the pain that he felt when they were ever low on money. It's like it triggered him, and left him thinking that they were somehow going to be in a bad situation financially.          "Because I'm not interested in being locked up in prison for the rest of my life, or getting shot in the head." Ava shook her head, not wanting to even entertain the idea any longer. Martin cocked his head to the side, a small smile on his lips when she spoke those words.           "I've seen Andres on the news. He's a wanted man." He pointed out. "And he's free right now. Prison and death aren't the only options, you know?"            "And what's the other option?" Ava cocked an eyebrow, looking up from her book to look at Martin.          "Being rich as hell." Martin laughed. "And free." Ava wanted the freedom the same as Martin did, but risking her life wasn't something that she'd be willing to do.         "We're doing fine." Ava tried explaining. "And we're happy. We're really happy." For the first time in a long time, she was truly happy with Martin. Seeing Andres brought back all of the memories, and she longed for him again, but she pushed them down. She wasn't so sure that she could stop her feelings from escalating if she spent any more time alone with him. "We're trying for a baby. I'm late." She pointed out.         "Babe," Martin sighed, his eyes staying on her, "you're late?" He questioned. "How late?" "         Almost a week today." Ava grinned ear to ear, admitting the news aloud. "I was going to take the test tonight." She had been putting it off as long as possible because the negative pregnancy tests were adding up, and they knocked her spirits one by one.            "What are you waiting for?" Martin's hopes were now up. He stood up from the dining table and walked over to her. "Go take it." Ava rolled her eyes, but she stood up as well, leaning forward to kiss his lips quickly.              "Okay." She said the word excitedly and hurried off into the bathroom. The test that night had come back negative. Ava spent the whole night in tears, wrapped up in Martin's arms. When morning came around and Andres and Sergio appeared again on their doorsteps she had a complete change of heart. She was ready to hear about the heist at the very least, and the more she heard about it, the more she accepted that it was something she was going to do.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------             Nairobi led the way down the hall as she strapped on her tightly fitted bulletproof vest and grabbed the machine gun that she only took out for special occasions. She stopped abruptly as she saw smoke billowing from the site of a recent bomb explosion. So many things had already gone wrong, but this was the biggest setback yet. The light from the officer's gun reached her, and she quickly moved out of the way, hiding herself behind a stand. The police were going to start moving in and she knew that. They were somehow going to have to stop that from happening. Ava fired the gun at the police, wishing it'd keep them still. She wasn't sure how they got in that position in the first place, but that was the least of her concerns at the moment. She would be inspecting it later, though, and there would be a punishment. Helsinki got hit and fell to the grab, and all she could hear was Nairobi crying out for him.             "Cover me!" Nairobi hollered as the police slowly came out from hiding, shooting their guns rapidly. Ava acted fast. She came out from behind the stand, firing her gun at the police officers to try and distract them from Nairobi. In some ways, they were at war right now. It was the first real battle that they had with the police, but sadly it wasn't going to be the last. Berlin nodded towards Nairobi, letting her know they'd cover her so that she could check on Helsinki and he ordered everyone to fire. Everyone came out of their spots, firing their weapons to injure. Nairobi was beside Helsinki quickly on the ground. The vest seemed to save him because he was able to get back off of the ground, helping shoot at the police. Then, in rolled a smoke bomb. Moscow quickly picked it up, tossing it back towards the police officers. They were now firing aimlessly, wanting to stop the police officers from coming inside.        "Cover me!" Tokyo yelled as she hurried on her heel, running straight for the machine gun. She pushed it up quickly and she knelt to fire.          "Fuck!" Martin screamed as he dropped his gun to the ground, and Ava's eyes went straight to him, noticing the gunshot in his right arm. Berlin had looked momentarily, but his attention was on getting the wall back up. The team worked together, pushing the wall up. Ava had hurried by Martin, assessing the wound the best she could mentally before she went to get first aid.           "Fuck," Ava mumbled the word over and over again as Martin's blood started to soak through his jumpsuit. She pulled off her vest and unzipped her jumpsuit to get the grey shirt off of her. She quickly wrapped it around his upper arm, tightening it as tight as she could get it until she could get the wound better-taken care of.         "How bad is it?" Nairobi asked as she ushered to Ava's side, leaning down next to Martin. Martin was starting to get dizzy from the pain of just the one shot.            "I don't know. I need to move him so I can look at it properly." Ava explained. Her eyes shot to Berlin immediately and Berlin stared at her with anger. He didn't want to help her move Martin, but he did anyway. He walked over, helping Martin off of the ground. Denver had one side of him and Berlin had the other.          "Where's Oslo?" Helsinki questioned. There was fear in his voice. He hurried off to find his cousin.        "Nairobi," Ava ordered her, "go be with Helsinki." She knew he would need someone if Oslo was dead. It wasn't a good sign that he didn't come out and help the rest of the group with the fight. That wasn't like him. "Please." She added. Ava ran after Berlin and Denver, but she made a pit stop, grabbing the first aid kit. She knew they'd be in one of the rooms with the phone because the Professor needed to be called. Ava was in the room in less than three minutes. Martin was on the couch, pain in his eyes as he tried to move his arm.          "Don't try to move it." Ava snapped at him, rushing into action. She tried her best to get the vest off of Martin without causing any more pain than he was already in. Instead of taking the red jumpsuit off, she ended up just cutting the sleeves off to the arm with the wound. Berlin and Denver had both left the room to find out more information about Oslo.          "Are you in love with me?" Martin asked the question but it slurred out of his mouth. On top of being shot, he was exhausted as they all were. And he was very stressed out.          "What?" Ava huffed as she checked for an exit wound. She sighed a breath of relief, seeing one. He was going to be in a hell of a lot of pain, but he was going to be fine. "Of course I love you." She started to wrap up his arm and he sighed. He shook his head.           "No," he started, "are you in love with me?" Ava stopped what she was doing for a moment and she just stared at him. She loved him. She'd die for him. She knew that much. "Will you ever love me like you love him?" He asked seriously.         "No," Ava answered honestly as she finished wrapping his arm up. It didn't hit any major veins or arteries, but it seemed that it did knock his energy out.           "Why?"          Ava looked straight at him, and she offered him a small smile. She didn't know why and she would never know why. She was saved by the bell. The door opened and everyone poured in. Helsinki was carrying Oslo who had a crack right on his head.         "What happened?" Ava knew something had happened to him when he didn't rush into battle. Helsinki looked at Ava with sad eyes but he didn't answer. Instead, he laid him down on the opposite chair.         "He needs to go to a hospital," Nairobi stated the obvious.         "No hospitals." Berlin shot it down quickly.          "He's going to die. He needs a surgeon." Nairobi argued back.          "Nobody's leaving." Berlin snapped. "This isn't a democracy." He didn't care about the opinion of the others when he had direct orders from Sergio that nobody was leaving the Mint. Berlin, being hotheaded, was the first to pull out a gun and he faced it at Nairobi. Then Nairobi, Tokyo, and Rio all faced their guns at Berlin. Ava gulped, right in the middle.         "He can't end up in prison," Helsinki spoke up. "He wouldn't want to leave." He stepped closer to Nairobi, reaching a hand out to comfort her. Nairobi was so soft-hearted and she felt a lot of pain for others.          "Moscow and Denver get back to the vault. Nairobi is back to the machines. Tokyo and Rio to the hostages." Berlin ordered. Nobody moved for a moment. "That's an order." When he snapped it they all seemed to get the message and they left the room shortly after.        "Try to get some sleep." Ava leaned down to Martin and pressed a kiss on his forehead. Berlin watched her as she did this. She walked straight over to the phone as it started to ring and answered it. "Professor?"         "What happened?"         "They escaped." She was sure he saw that on the cameras but she said it anyway. "Oslo," she looked towards him as she said this, "he's in bad shape." She swallowed hard.        "And Phoenix?"        "Shot in the arm. He'll be fine." Ava looked towards Berlin and she held the phone out to him. Just as he took it she hurried out of the room, allowing herself to finally break down. The tears didn't stop falling, and it was to the point that she was now sobbing. She pulled herself together the best she could, but her eyes were bloodshot. Berlin left the room after his phone call.       "He's going to stay with Oslo," Berlin explained. He looked towards Ava and frowned, his eyes running over her face. It was clear that she had been crying. "Maybe you should try to rest." Berlin offered her more time to relax, and maybe even more time to be with Phoenix. But she didn't want it.          "No. We have too much to do now." She wiped her eyes the best she could, trying to clear her sight. She looked straight down at his hand which was shaking like crazy. He grabbed it quickly with his other hand, trying to stop it. "Have you ever taken your medicine?"           "Got kind of distracted with a shootout, you know?" Berlin couldn't help but be snarky whenever he could. Ava smirked and she nodded slowly.           "Let's go then." She led him to his office, the one she knew he hid his medicine in and she went straight for it. She grabbed the box and opened it, setting it on the table. He watched her carefully and sat down at the table. He grabbed the needle and quickly shot the medicine into his body. Ava was still disappointed that she found out by Raquel, and then it just so happened that same day she found Berlin with another woman. "You don't owe me commitment. I know that." Ava wished she could explain her jealousy when she saw him with her. "So I'm not mad you slept with her. I just am disappointed." She shrugged her shoulders, admitting it finally. The gunfight had scared the truth out of her. Berlin stared at her for a moment and just didn't say anything. He stood up from the chair and walked over until he was directly in front of her. He reached a hand out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and offered her a smile.         "You have blood all over your jumpsuit." He pointed out.           Ava looked down at the jumpsuit, sighing at the blood that was drenched on the stomach area. Berlin ran the same hand down to the zipper on her jumpsuit and unzipped it slowly. "Andres-"           He cut her off. "I'm going to get you a new jumpsuit, don't worry." His eyes wandered down her chest at the very alluring bra that she purposely wore on the heist. "You asked me what I thought about."            "Huh?" Ava furrowed her brows at his comment. She could feel the heat showing on her now very red cheeks.            "You asked me what I thought about," he started, "when I fucked her." He added. Ava's stomach sunk, knowing exactly where this was going. "I thought of that first night in here that we made love." He used a different term to describe the two of them. Ava's eyes stopped when they met his and she practically melted at just his stare. "I just wanted to feel something." He admitted. "To feel alive." He sighed.             Ava pulled her arms out of the jumpsuit, and slowly pulled it completely off of her body. She was just standing in front of him with undergarments, already having no shirt on because she used it for Phoenix. Berlin's eyes wandered over Ava's body, and he made it clear. He snaked an arm around her lower back, pulling her in close to him so that there was no space between the two of them. He leaned down, pressing his lips to hers with so much passion. The kiss was different than all of their others. It was still heated, but it wasn't as lustful. It was more loving. She kissed him back with just the same energy, pressing her body up against him. He pulled away from her long enough to unzip his jumpsuit, but he didn't lower it yet. He directed Ava, pulling her around so that she was in front of the desk, and without having to demand it, she bent over the table. He went straight from her hair, knotting his fingers in it tightly. They seemed to be enjoying this a little more than they actually should be.
