SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA myeonji's house
The sun rose up from the horizon, but Myeonji was already awake. She didn't move or even start getting ready for a few extra hours, but instead just laid on her bed, staring at the ceiling.
Her gut was killing her, she was extremely nervous. The feeling in her stomach was like butterflies. But, not that beautiful——maybe buzzing moths instead.
Finally, a notification sound pierced the delicate air in her room. Myeonji grabbed it almost instantly as if it were a lifeline, on the screen was a text from Chaewon.
Damn. She hadn't seen her name in ages.
"Meet up? Today?"
Myeonji sat herself up on her bed, running a hand through her noirette hair while biting her lip. Her anxiety flooded back into her system, the same anxious feeling she had tried to get rid of since 5 this morning. It was currently 7.
Just then, another notification came through which interrupted her thoughts.
"I mean I can. I haven't really talked to the guys though... It's been two years. Yeonjun and I also broke up."
Reading Chaewon's text broke her heart. In her naive eyes back in high school, Chaewon and Yeonjun were perfect for each other. They got each other's humor, taste, and chemistry. If they broke up, she and Beomgyu's relationship was dead.
"I'm sorry to hear that... I had no clue."
Myeonji replied, even though she didn't know if sympathy was what Chaewon wanted or needed.
"I'll get ready now." "Also, Myeonji, I don't know if you wanted this, but I told Kai and Taehyun you were back. They wanted to come with me to see you."
Myeonji couldn't believe her eyes. She felt terrified that her two other old friends found out about her return through a mutual, and not herself. But, she was also somewhat relieved that they wanted to see her.
"In the past, I never thought you and Taehyun were that close. Also Kai. But when you left without a word, they were really, really hurt. They probably have a lot to say to you."
There was that guilt again. How could she not feel guilty. Taehyun and Hueningkai were nothing short of angels to her, and she repaid them by leaving them and the country for almost 2 years without a word.
