SEOUL SOUTH, KOREA hanlim highschool
The start of Myeonji's third month at Hanlim seemed crazy. Somehow the word spread around about her relationship and everyone would just ask her about it.
Myeonji stopped walking to her locker as another group of girls surrounded her. The questions were repetitive like, 'How did you guys end up together?' or 'What does he see in you anyway?'. Myeonji just knew they all had one thing in common: They were all invading her privacy.
She ignored most of the girls but one girl caught her attention. Myeonji stopped walking again and came face to face with Ryujin. She looked angrier than ever.
"How dare you." Ryujin bluntly stated. "Who are you to replace me?"
Myeonji rolled her eyes and remembered what Beomgyu had told her. "You aren't replacing her. She's fake, you aren't."
Instead, Myeonji just brushed her shoulder gently across Ryujin as the crowd of people around them gasped. Myeonji felt a sudden push on her back making her stumble but not fall forwards. She sharply turned around facing Ryujin once again with her hands crossed.
"What's wrong with you, Ryujin?" Myeonji took a step forward. "He's over you. Move on."
The crowd let out some "ooh's".
Ryujin just scoffed. "You'll see why I broke up with him." She looked at her nails. Myeonji felt uneasy at this statement. "Beomgyu... Is a different boy. A player you could say."
"He is not a player." Myeonji defended her boyfriend.
"How could you say that? You barely know him, right?" Myeonji was speechless. "Beomgyu falls out of love really easily. I strived and tried to make our relationship work but he wasn't cooperative so I had to see someone else to fill up my love."
"That's just cheating. And it's super shallow for you to do that to him. He was broken after you cheated on him. I've seen it." Myeonji told her side of the story.
"Anyways," Ryujin continued. "He became very distant after the fifth month so expect that from him okay?" Ryujin taunted Myeonji. "And if suddenly Beomgyu's senses come back to him... I'll be right here with open arms."
"Beomgyu isn't that dumb." Myeonji ridiculed.
"How would you know? You don't know the type of girls he likes, his habits and you've never met his family have you? I've had my firsts with him as you could say the same with Beomgyu." Her teasing smile appeared on her face again. Then a bitter, horrible expression appeared on her face. "You'll never have what Beomgyu and I had, Myeonji. He still loves me and you know it. Right now, you're his rebound per se and such a downgrade."
