"Here we are," Beomgyu's gentle voice rang through Myeonji's ears.
Myeonji felt a tug at her hand as she didn't peel her eyes off the door. She looked up at her one of a kind boyfriend and showed off a small smile. "Thanks for walking me home, Gyu." Myeonji threw herself in Beomgyu's chest. Her body loosened as she felt him hug back.
After a good ten seconds of hugging and silence, Beomgyu slowly backed away indirectly telling Myeonji it was time to separate. "I'll see you tomorrow?" Beomgyu questioned, stroking Myeonji's soft cheeks.
Myeonji melted at Beomgyu's touch. She nodded. "Of course,"
Without much thought, Beomgyu leaned in and united their lips. It was a small peck, but it made Myeonji go (internally) crazy. Beomgyu blushed as they pulled apart. He let go of Myeonji's hand and started walking away into the darkness mumbling a small 'goodbye' in the process.
Myeonji hugged her small body and watched as her boyfriend made his way out of the gated area. She wanted to see if he was safe until he was out of sight.
Myeonji entered her vague, seemingly empty house. Everyone was gone from the main floor and they were most probably sleeping. Myeonji began walking to her kitchen in need of water. She opened her cupboard and grabbed a cup, and poured some water from her fridge.
"Myeon?"
The young girl spun around so fast that she had managed to drop some water from her cup. Locking eyes with the person that had startled her, Myeonji let out a relieved sigh. "Hana!" She whisper-screamed. "Don't sneak up on‒"
"Myeonji, we need to talk."
Appearing from behind her maid, were Myeonji's parents. Her mom was in her silk nightgown and her dad was in his soft pyjama's. Both of them were displaying some sort of sad emotion on their faces.
Myeonji was confused. "Was is it?"
Hana stepped forward grabbing Myeonji by the wrist gently and followed behind her parents who were leading them to their houses' living room. The walk there was less than literally ten seconds but Myeonji felt as if she had been walking for forever.
What happened next shook Myeonji to the core. Her body froze whilst entering and her senses went dry. Inside her living room‒at twelve am‒were her grandparents. Myeonji would always envy kids with good relationships with their grandparents because she has never experienced a good relationship with hers.
