JEROME’S P.O.V

I had to drop Sapphire off and fast.

Yang benar saja. Kylie has been calling me non-stop on another number. Saya terlupa yang Kylie ada dua contact number and I didn’t block the other one.

“Aren’t you gonna answer the call?” Sapphire tanya.

“Uh, later.” Saya tidak mau Sapphire dengar Kylie screaming on the other line. And I know Kylie is screaming, looking at all her messages. “See you in office tomorrow, Saph.”

I zoomed to Kylie’s sent location.

My office.

Tapi not in my office.

Kylie is at the rooftop of my office!

Saya bergegas menuju my private lift after parking my car.

Can’t this lift go any faster?

Sampai saja 50th floor, I took the staircase to the rooftop, dan mendapati Kylie at the edge of the concrete rail of the balcony.

Beberapa orang security cuba memujuk dia untuk berundur dari the balcony railing. Tapi knowing Kylie, dia memang keras kepala. She won’t listen to anyone unless it’s favourable to her.

“What are you doing, Kye?” Suara saya dingin.

“How could you, bibi?” Kylie tersedu-sedu.

Saya menyipitkan mata. She’s really not getting the term ‘broke up’ in her thick skull, is she?

“Kye, you agreed, we agreed.” Saya cuba membuat dia faham dan mengingat kembali malam kami mengakhiri hubungan kami.

“I agreed to give us time and space!” Kylie screamed. Tubuh dia terhuyung sikit ke depan dan semua yang berada di atas rooftop menjerit ketakutan.

“You agreed that we should end us!” Saya membalas.

“Taking a break, Jerome! Not break up!” Dia lupa apa yang dia katakan tu malam kah atau dia sengaja memutar-belit ni?

“Sir, it’s better not to… uh, make matters worse.” Dyna nampak sangat risau.

“You cheated with Sapphire!” Kylie menjerit, I heard a few people gasping.

I did not cheat! And if I were making my move on Sapphire pun, it’s not called cheating because I’m single.

“I’d rather die than…!” Kylie ter-stop.

“What do you want, Kye?” Sembari memotong kata-kata dia, rahang saya mengeras.

“I want…” She stifled a sob. “us.”

Us? There is no us.

“There is no-” I started.

“So let me jump! Let us jump!” Saya tidak mau lompat sama kau.

Kylie memegang perut dia.
“Let me and our child jump to our deaths! Biar kami mati!”

Huh?

“I don’t believe you.” My voice low, but still audible, masih boleh dengar.

“It’s true.” Kylie mengesat air mata dia. “I am pregnant, J. You’re going to be a dad.”

And more gasps. Shit! I should’ve ordered everyone to leave lebih awal sebelum Kylie mula menjerit lagi.

Saya menggelengkan kepala. Saya bingung dengan perasaan saya. The only thing I’m feeling right now is confused.

“Leave!” Saya mengarahkan semua staff untuk meninggalkan the rooftop. Pantas semua bergegas masuk semula ke dalam bangunan. Hanya tinggal tu 3 orang security saja.
