The Cavalry Battle

The students stood, waiting anxiously as Midnight went silent to build suspense.

"The next event.... Is a cavalry battle!"

She started explaining the points system, telling everyone how it went up 5 points each time.

And Bakugou's headband was worth 10 million.

The moment she announced that, all eyes turned to him. They turned the fuck back around when Shoto sent them a glare.

"You have 10 minutes to get into teams! Go!"

People scurried to get into groups, most going with people they already knew and were friends with.

Shoto turned to Bakugou.

"Want to be on a team?"

The blond looked surprised.

"You sure? You know everyone will be after me"

"If we get Momo and whoever was in fourth they might not even try"

Bakugou smirked and looked at the board, seeing who was in fourth.

"Okay. I'll talk to ponytail, you get copycat"

Shoto nodded and turned around, looking for Neito. When he saw him, the poor boy looked like he was about to have a panic attack.

He jogged over and put a hand on his shoulder, making Neito jump.

"Holy shit Shoto, you scared me"

"Sorry. Want to team with me and Bakugou?"

Neito nodded but stayed silent, so Shoto took his hand and gently pulled him to where Bakugou and Momo were. He looked up at the timer.

8 minutes left.

Bakugou looked bored, like he really didn't give a shit. He did, he cared about this more than he'd ever admit, but nobody needed to know that.

They stood in silence for a few moments before Shoto spoke.

"We need a plan. Neito, think you can copy some quirks?"

He nodded.

"I could probably get Midnights if you wanted"

The group looked to where Midnight was leaning against the stage, twirling her whip in her hand.

Bakugou smirked.

"Well? Go get it then"

Neito looked at him like he was stupid.

"Okay, okay. Calm down 'splodey. Shoto, come invite me to join your team when you see me touch her"

He walked over to where Midnight was with fake distress.

"Midnight-sensei!"

She looked up at him and stopped fiddling with the whip.

"Yes, Monoma?"

He walked right up to her and dramatically placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I can't find a team! Nobody wants to be on mine because they say people will come for my ban-"

Before he could even finish the sentence, Shoto was behind him.

"Neito. You can join our team, if you want"

He faked a happy look, and hugged Shoto tight.

"My saviour! Sorry for bothering you sensei!"

They walked off, back to Momo and Bakugou.
