Dhira sat at the edge of Taru's bed, resting her back against the headboard as she watched the scene of a mother choosing the perfect adornment for her daughter to wear.

The way Chitra ran her fingers through Taru's wardrobe,
Making sure the choices she puts forward is comfortable yet beautiful,
The way she knows what her daughter would go for,
The way she corrects her with the right accessories to match,

It all felt too far and unreachable for her. With a tender smile across her face, she got up excused herself from them saying that she is tired.

Tired of yearning for what they have, perhaps.

She walked out of their house after closing the gate behind and took slow steps to hers.

Just when she reached she almost jerked,

Dhira!

She looked up to find Adhi standing at his doorway with a Spatula in his hands,

Ad: Yevlo neram koopudhren unna? Yenna yosichitu irukka?

Dhira calmed her shaky breath down,managed to plaster on a smile and shook her head.

Adhi sensed that she was lying yet decided to not probe further,

Ad: Indha chutney'um dosa'yum pannen, veetla koodhuturu

He said as he handed over a food container that Dhira just noticed and she took him from him while Adhi's eyes were still examining her out of sorts features.

She hadn't make a comment about him with a spatula,
She wasn't hopping when she left with a thanks, instead she was surprisingly walking
Moreover, her eyes were careful not to meet his

That's when he realised how captivated he had been to them. Never in this four months of their friendship, Adhi's eyes had never left Dhira's each second they communicated.

For the first time seeing it away from him was deeply muddling.

Ad: Adhira!

He managed to call out for her before she disappeared into her house, she turned and raised her eyebrows,

Ad: Tired'ah irukke, rest pannu

He said and went back to his must have burnt dosa while Dhira smiled lightly.

Her ridiculous heart wished to take his sentence in a whole different way.

But that's not what he meant,

Was it?

~~~~~~
Dhira sulkily placed the container in the dining table,
Dh: Akka, Adithya edho pannaraam kudhutharu.
Senthil who was just nearby at the couch helping Sree with his homework asked him to tidy things up and walked over to help serve as they were all hungry already and his wife was taking a whole trinity to feed the family.
