Arjun found the main door opened wide. He had been to this house with Adhi for a couple times before so he pretty well knew the place.

Adhi!

No response

Arjun entered the house

Adhi!

Arjun strolled from one room to another, yet he couldn't find anyone.

Dhira!

The next second, Arjun heard a breaking sound from one of the rooms that made him run towards it.

Arjun's jaw dropped when he found Adhi, looking like a complete mess, with blood oozing from his hand due to the glass he broke, plopped on the floor.

Dei!

Arjun rushed to Adhi in panic and kneeled beside him. There were glass pieces pricked in his palm,

Macha, ratham da! Paithiyama da unaku?! Va!

Arjun tried pulling Adhi but Adhi didn't even move as he sat like a stone.

Arjun muttered profanities as he ran to grab the first aid box from the kitchen. His eyes were still searching for Dhira

He kneeled beside Adhi and used a wet cloth to wipe the blood off,

Dhira, yenga da?! Yennada achi?

Dhira poita

Adhi mumbled painfully, Arjun lost his cool,

Dei! Modhalerndhu idhaye soltu irukkae?! Enna dhan da achi ungaluku? Yenga da poita Dhira?

Adhi turned to face Arjun with tired and swollen eyes,

Romba dhooram

🦋

Ivlo nadanthuruku! Oru vaartha sonniyada?! Arivu irukka da unaku?!

Arjun chided, unable to withstand everything Adhi managed to explain.

Adhi chuckled painfully, caressing the silver bracelet in his hand.

Adhi has been sad, broken, angry, frustrated but never in his life has he been numb.

But now he was.

He was completely numb until he couldn't even shed tears anymore.
He felt strangled and suffocated.

En amma'va vidha mela vechi pathen da avala

Arjun sighed as he sat down on the stoop of the house beside Adhi. He kept his hands on Adhi's shoulder giving it a squeeze,

Onnu agama na pathukuren'nu sonnen. Ava yenna namba koodha illa

Arjun clicked his tounge as he shook Adhi,

Macha, apdilam onnu illa. Ava andha arthathula yengayum poiruka maata. Chinna ponnu da, bayandhurupa avlo dhan.

Adhi hurtedly shook his head in denial,

Avunga akka'ta na yenna da solven?

Adhi looked at Arjun and asked, Arjun stood up in front of Adhi.

Andha alavuku lam illa mapla. Dhira vandhuruva, namba theduvom. Inga dhan yenga yava-

AVA VARA MAATA!

Adhi shouted back in a way it finally registered in Arjun's head.

Unakku avala pathi theriyadhu da
