your eyes opened and you gasped, jolting up from the bed before wincing in pain as your father wakes up. "oh my goodness you're awake!" he exclaims, holding onto your hand tightly as you smiled weakly.

"hey dad.." you said tearfully, realizing that you made it and smiled as bright as you could. "here, i'll call everyone in." he told you, brushing the hair away from your ear as you nod your head slowly. you couldnt wait to see him.

first it was your friends at school, dolores and mirabel. they both took turns hugging you gently as they worried they would hurt you, but they were still crying happily for your safety.

next was your mother, who gently cried at your side cause her baby was safe. she could finally rest easy knowing that you made it out alive, you cried with her as you hugged her tightly.

as everyone left, you patiently waited for your boyfriend to show up, but he never did. the sky turned dark and you sat alone in the empty room, the walls felt like they were closing in as the loneliness was suffocating but you'll be able to return to school once you're healthy, which meant you could see him.

after a few weeks, you were able to stand on your own and were deemed healthy, being allowed to leave the hospital and return to school.

"you ready?" your father smiled, dropping you off at school as you nod your head with a determined smile. your first instinct was to go to your locker, because camilo would always wait for you there.

"what could you lose?
well for one, his heart.."

as you greeted hello to the fellow students you recognize, you look at your locker but then stop at your tracks. camilo planted a kiss on another girls cheek, blushing red as they both exchanged a tight hug.

".. belongs to another,"

you couldnt help but feel the painful feeling of your heart beating out of your chest, stepping back as you felt sick. "i- i need-" you stammered, taking a few steps back before taking a hard turn and running out the opposite direction.

thankfully nobody noticed you running off but you wished that camilo did.

"..and no other heart will do."

you wished he ran over to you, explaining that it was all just a misunderstanding but he never did. you felt hot tears stream down your face as you ran out of school and into a secluded area. falling to the ground as you cried, trying to wipe away tears with your uniform sleeve but it was useless.

"be able to love again and move on." you remembered telling him, and he did. camilo found someone else to love as much as he did for you, but why were you selfish to have him back? he was happy, thats all you ever wanted for him but you wanted him to be happy with you.
