"I want to break up.."

Now it was your turn to freeze.

At first you thought it was all just a dream.

Or maybe you just heard him wrong.

But the look on his face didn't show any signs of laughter or regret.

Then it hit you.

Your co-worker was right.

Everything that your co-worker told you before came back to you.

Every single word she had said.

He probably doesn't love you anymore.

That's not true.

He is probably seeing another woman.

No he isn't.

No man willingly stays overtime...unless he's seeing another woman..

I know him more than you think..

Your soon-to-be-husband never makes time for you..

He's been busy..

Just don't be surprised if he turns out exactly as I thought...

After a long silence, you heard the door open.

You- "Wait...Are you seriously breaking up with me?"

Derek- "I said what I wanted to say.."

You- "Were...were you even planning to tell me?"

Derek- "I didn't want to today, but you kept pushing me.."

You- "But.....I just asked what's bothering you..."

Derek- "I know..."

You- "So I've been bothering you this whole time? But we barely even see each other...How could I be such a headache to you?"

Derek- "Its not that....I just think you deserve a better life than this..."

You- "A better life that US? What does that even mean? Do you hate me that much?"

You- "Or....Or you're seeing someone else behind my back....?"

You looked down as you felt your tears coming back.

You- "Its that.....isn't it?"

Derek- "No."

You looked at him.

Derek- ".....There is no one else...If there was then you would've already known..."

You- "Then what is it?"

He looked down.

You- "How long has this been on your mind for?"

Derek- "Few years.."

You- "...What?.....Then why did you even propose to me?..."

Derek- "Pity I guess..."

You didn't know what to feel.

At first you were angry....and now you're heartbroken.

You- "So.......you break up with me.....After 6 years of us being together?...2 years after you proposed to me?....Without even thinking?"

He shrugs.

You didn't even know what to say.
