FOR WHAT SEEMS TO BE LIKE ETERNITY, they continued to walk.
In Y/n's case, her legs had begun to ache and her throat was parched from not having consumed liquids for several hours, and she longed for a break.
Y/n kept her complaints to herself since Alexei was insistent that they were close. As they walked in silence, her mind was filled with everything that he had said.
"You will know when we arrive," Alexei explained, making pig noises when they were close to reaching the location.
In silence, the four of them continued their long journey when they spotted a farm a few feet away.
In the distance there was pig snorting, Y/n breathed a sigh of relief but was trembling with anticipations about meeting Melina again.
As she gazed into the distance, her heart was once again pounding.
A familiar woman with a gun in hand made her way to them as they approached the farm.
The four of them stopped across the fence of the farm, and there she stood, all safe and sound, the woman, her mother; Melina.
The one that seemed to care about her, more than Alexei ever did.
In order to avoid meeting her eyes, Natasha and Yelena remained silent, not knowing how she would behave once she saw them all, especially with a gun in her hands.
It didn't matter very much to Alexei since he smiled at Melina and said, "Honey, we're home."
There was no response from Melina, she simply walked right past them and made her way to a small house near the farm.
Both Y/n and Yelena exchanged glances in the direction of Alexei, who followed closely behind.
As Alexei walked away, he said, "Come on, girls.".
Following behind Natasha, Y/n and Yelena, Melina led them into her house, which was made of wood and appeared to have been well maintained.
Despite its simple appearance, Melina's house was cosy and comfortable.
"Welcome to my humble abode," Melina said as she walked into her kitchen, through the hallway. "Make yourself at home."
It is likely that Y/n had enjoyed the view of the garden house and continued to inspect the house, looking for any type of traps or anything else that may be harmful to her.
She had complete faith that Melina would not have any traps or she wanted to trust her mother. "Let's have a drink," She said with a sigh.
In the centre of the room, she noticed a photograph which she turned to reveal a photograph of her as a baby and Yelena and Natasha holding her.
The woman smiled briefly, before pulling a chair at the end of the table while Yelena pulled a chair next to her.
In an effort to hold back tears, Y/n stared off into space. She felt that this was the right decision for her. She was reunited with the family she always wanted.
In spite of this, several minutes later, Melina and Natasha entered the room, where Natasha sat beside her, and Melina remained seated to Yelena's left. As they heard grunting from the bathroom, an uncomfortable silence settled upon the room.
"Let's drink," Melina said, opening the Vodka and beginning to pour small glasses for the group.
Natasha and Y/n exchanged glances, Y/n sitting in an upright position. In looking around the table, she felt deja vu, about the day when they were on the run together.
