-Third Person POV-

As the blazing sun dimmed behind the fluffy peach clouds, the sky turned fiery red and golden orange while colors comparable to yellow buttercups spread through the streets. Vendors were gathering up their wares and the streets were almost bare, with the exception of a few wanderers and a young boy and a young woman were making their way through the frigid town. Their cheeks held a rosy tint to them, and their breaths were visible in the frosty marketplace as the crisp evening temperature nipped at their skin.

-First-Person POV-

'we took too long to sell the coal. damn it.'

My wits couldn't help but be blurred by concern for the young boy walking alongside me who was singing a small tune and beaming at people passing by. I narrowed my eyes and creased my brows slightly as I pondered whether or not to send the small boy home by himself with pursed lips.

Tanjiro grinned. "I really appreciate your help (Y/N)-chan! I needed it!" I responded with a small hum to the young man with the checkered haori's gratitude.

I began to speak with a small frown. "Tanjiro-kun, I would like for you to stay at my place tonight, you shouldn't be walking home in the dark on your own." I advised the boy while side-glancing at him in the process, a worried look was plastered on my face as I spoke gently to the lad.

The small boy's eyes widened in wonder, but he swiftly returned his composure. "I've got a great sense of smell, so I'll be fine. Thank's for your concern though, (Y/N)-Chan" the youngster claimed. I turned my head to look at him with concerned and soft eyes.

Ravens flew over us, making me furrow my brows further and narrow my eyes at the birds. A single feather from the bird glided down to the ground as our footsteps continued through the icy town.

I hummed while I pondered attentively. "And yet it was simple for me to sneak up on you." I had a matter-of-fact demeanor. Tanjiro was about to speak until he froze and looked down, giving a small sigh, not denying the fact as he sheepishly scratched his nape. "I won't let you travel on your own; plus, demons are gonna start appearing at this time of night" I spoke firmly, my voice filled with seriousness, not willing to be swayed. The boy was well aware of my fixation with demons, having been told numerous stories about them, none of which had good endings. "Stay the night with me. I'm sure that won't bother your mother." With a slight sigh and a nod, the boy reluctantly agreed to her demands.

I looked down at him with a smirk and nudged his arm teasingly. "Don't look at me like that, you might make me feel bad." I teased and he immediately perked up, then returned to his usual smiling personality. I chuckled and ruffled his hair gently. "You're too easy..."
