============================

My eyes were closed as I tried to steady my breathing through my nostrils.

I have been tied up in this room for more than a few hours now, if not a day, and my body feels completely numb at this point. The demon had to cover my wounds with her cloth to stop me from dying of blood loss, leaving me a bloodied and bruised mess covered in bindings.

About three hours ago, the demon injected me with some sort of fluid that oozed the pain a slight bit, likely an antidote of sorts, but my mind had been too fogged to even think straight ever since I last saw Zenitsu, which must have been over six hours ago at least.

I felt exhausted, but couldn't sleep. I felt hungry, but couldn't eat. I felt like I was slowly dying, but I knew the demon wouldn't let me until they took me to Muzan.

My eyes had adjusted to the dark of the room, and some particles of dust had landed on my form due to the amount of time I'd been kneeling here by myself.

The silence has been unbearable. Just kneeling in a dark room, bound, with no sound to listen to except for your own breathing. It's enough to drive someone mad.

Every time I moved, the bindings tightened, even if it was to relieve myself of being in an uncomfortable position, the demon held no mercy and tortured me with every chance they got, snapping my bones at every opening I gave them. I had to forcefully stop my body from shaking, otherwise, the bondage would tighten and cause more terrifying snaps to echo through the room, making my head throb in pure agony.

My breaths were soft and calm, yet shallow and unnoticeable in this silent room I sat in. My vision was blurry in the one eye I had left, and by now at least half of the bones in my body were broken, leaving me completely numb to any more pain as my new scar was tightly covered by the cloth to stop me from dying.

Every muscle hurt more than they ever have before as my ears continued to ring due to the blood loss and horrid silence that surrounded my form. Whenever I closed my eyes to rest, the bondings would tighten, causing more pain, and forcing me to stay awake through the pain, making dark bags form under my eye sockets.

Sudden footsteps above me, on the ceiling, made my eye widen slightly as I slowly glanced up to the ceiling with shaking pupils.

Suddenly, the part of the roof came tumbling down, from an explosion, with a large bang, making the rubble fall to the floor in front of me, and loosening the bindings, setting me free.

I gasped for air when the fabric around my mouth fell, along with all of the others, causing me to fall to the floor. Laying on my side with my unnaturally bent arms lazily outstretched in front of me.

My limbs were all at unnatural angles as I lay on the bloodied floor beneath my feet as I panted for oxygen, making my chest heave up and down.

A sudden recognizable voice echoed through the room. "(Y/N)!" Tengens voice exclaimed when he landed in the room, through the hole in the roof, which I presume he caused. "(Y/N)! (Y/N), WHERE ARE YOU?!" He spun around the room in panic, eagerly searching for my crumbled form.

Once the dust cleared, his eyes landed on my crippled form on the floor as I panted for air, desperate to breathe. His eyes widened and he froze when he took in what my form looked like next to a dried pool of blood. His gaze traveled from my unnaturally bent legs to my crushed arms, then up to the bloody scar on my face.

He gritted his teeth before rushing over to me, before skidding next to me and gently taking me in his arms, so I sat in his lap as my head was supported by his large arm. "Ten..gen..." I weakly spoke before gritting my teeth and flinching when the unbearable pain rose to the surface.

He gritted his teeth and raised his hand, before gently tracing over my scar with a delicate touch, a frown on his face. "The demons did this..." He creased his brows before clutching me close to his body and holding me to his warm chest.

"Ten..gen." He hummed as he stroked my hair. "There...are..two..." I huffed out breathlessly, making him furrow his brows. "Demo..ns...There...are..two." I finished while clutching my eye shut in pain.

He held me closer to his warm embrace. "Don't speak. Save your strength." He sternly spoke before sighing. "How did they get you like this...?" He mumbled to himself as he frowned solemnly.

I exhaled lightly. "I'm..Sor..sorry..." I panted and he hushed me while stroking my hair and rubbing circles on my back.

"I told you not to speak." He sadly spoke. "It's not your fault. I knew you weren't fully recovered from your last mission, and I took you anyway." He sighed and clutched me tighter, though it didn't hurt. "When you fought the demons, you had no weapons, plus you weren't fully ready for battle, so it isn't your fault. If anything, it's mine for taking you." He finished before closing his eyes and savoring the embrace.

Distant crashes echoed through the night as Uzui clutched onto me in the dark and cold room with his warm and kind embrace. Most of the night's stars watched us with smiles while others watched the battle with sadness while my vision became blurry and I slowly regained my breath. Distant cries and screams echoed through the city as fires began to rage with the collapsed rubble.

"..Go..." Uzui loosened the embrace to look into my eyes. I gave a small and weak smile as my chest continued to heave. "Please go...help..them.." I closed my eye and leaned on his form for support and warmth.

He parted his mouth. "What about you?" He questioned with furrowed brows.

I smiled through the immense pain. "Don't worry...The boys...need..your help...Leave..me here...I can't move.." His eyes widened as my light breaths continued. "I'm only...stalling you from...killing the...demons..." I gritted my teeth in pain as a cough lingered at the back of my throat. "Just...get going...already.." I finished with a rough exhale.

Silence enveloped our forms. It was warm and welcoming, one you would share with a best friend, family member, or lover. It was the kind of silence which brought back your senses and felt like you were being embraced by warmth and kindness all at once. It was the type of silence that would make you unintentionally smile before you could even comprehend what to think or talk about.

I heard the man above me sigh before he placed a warm and large hand behind my head and made me lean forward slightly, making me purse my lips in pain.

Tengen slowly lowered his head so his lips were in line with my forehead, and after a moment of contemplation, he gently kissed my forehead with a loving and warm touch, one anyone would welcome with open arms.

He kept his lips glued to my forehead as he began to slowly rock my body in his large frame. With his hand, he rubbed small and warm comforting circles on my back, and with his other, he stroked through my hair with a delicate touch, careful to not hurt me.

It was like I was a piece of glass, and with the slightest of movement, I would shatter and collapse in his arms, leaving him to clean up the scattered shards that would litter the bloody and dust-covered floor.

He nodded as he kept his lips sealed to my forehead and closed his eyes. My mouth parted and I reopened my eyes to meet his calm but solemn face, one which I could barely recognize as Uzui Tengen.

After a moment, he removed his lips from my forehead and gently laid my body on the ground, on my back. He reached over and grabbed a wooden plank before gently lifting my head and placing the plank beneath my head for support, then slowly lowering my head onto the wood. "I know it's not a lot, but it's the best I can do for now." He leaned down and gave my forehead one last gentle kiss before standing up.

Tengen gave my form one last glance filled with worry, before jumping up, and through the roof, towards the fight, leaving me alone once again. I swallowed thickly as a small blush was stained over my cheeks as I gently closed my eye, leaving me in an ebony black. Though, the blush could have just been some dried blood.
