⚠️TW: MENTIONS OF SUICIDE⚠️

⚠️READ AT YOUR OWN RISK ⚠️

My hair swayed with the breeze as the night air nipped at my flesh. My hand shakily held my gun in my hand as I stood on the edge of a large cliff. My eyes were bland, and my heart was fast. The crescent moon hung above me as I inhaled the crisp air of the night. The stars glistened in my eyes as my mind was blank, along with the expression I wore. The snow fell from the clouds above me and landed on my form gracefully as my feet stood at the edge. Nothing was below me except large and piercing rocks and angry waves that crashed violently against the cliff.

My hand shook, not only due to the cold of the night but because of the possibilities that ran through my head at this moment in time. My eyes refused to look down at the crashing waves, and my pupils shook. I inhaled sharply as the waves crashed and increased in sound.

My katana lay in its sheath at my waist, and it lightly clinked as the wind blew.

My toes were at the very edge of the mountain, and the wind shook me slightly, but I showed no reaction as my eyes were set forward.

"Nice of you to show up." I spoke, my voice echoed through the trees and woods that stood behind me. It shook slightly but still held strong against the overwhelming presence behind me.

A chuckle ran through the forest. "I wouldn't miss this moment for the world. I thought you died with the explosion. Uts awful to see you survived." It spoke as the demon revealed himself when he walked out of the thickets. "Though, if that meant it drove you to this...it might have been worth it."

His crimson red eyes bored into my skull as he walked with silent footsteps. He adjusted the sleeve of his suit before stopping beside me and looking out into the night. "I figured you wouldn't." I chuckled breathily.

He never took his eyes off into the distance as he spoke. "It was only a matter of time before you would try to escape this world." I hummed in response. His crimson eyes glowed in the darkness of the night.

I furrowed my brows. "This was your aim since the start, right? Kill everyone I loved, then drive me to this..." I swallowed thickly as he chuckled.

"Honestly, no. But this is a good bonus. Besides, most of it you did to yourself." He smirked, making my face scrunch in disgust.

There was such a tense silence surrounding us that it could have been sliced with a knife. My ears rang, and my lips pursed as we watched the stars.

"I'd like to give you an offer." His calm voice broke the silence as he gave me a side glance. I didn't respond, so he took that as his chance to continue. "Become a demon." He simply put it.

I chuckled into the night. "Why would I do that?" I questioned as I continued to chuckle at his preposterous statement.

He narrowed his eyes and returned his gaze back forward. "Well, for one, you won't die-"

"What if I want to die? I mean..that's why we're both here, right? So I can die..." I frowned as the waves continued to crash.

He exhaled, a serious demeanour about him. "Don't interrupt me." He spoke annoyedly.
