While I slowly recovered consciousness, I lightly huffed and softly groaned as pain shot through my head. My migraine caused me discomfort, which aggravated my pain. In discomfort, I clenched my closed eyes and furrowed my brows, delicately pursing my smooth lips.
The feeling of someone's rough hand grabbing my own brought me a mild sense of consolation while my migraine continued to add more dissatisfaction to my body. The hand gripped mine softly and kindly as I felt an icy and damp piece of cloth being placed on my forehead to attempt to comfort my mind.
After a moment, I hesitantly opened my heavy eyelids to be greeted by the sun's brightness. I let my eyes adjust to the light gradually, and my grasp on my palm tightened slightly.
I glanced at the ceiling of the room I collapsed in with Tanjiro by my side, as well as the old lady from before, once my eyes had rested.
Tanjiro's eyes brightened and he smiled kindly. "(Y/N)-Nee, are you alright?" He questioned softly.
I slowly sat up and grabbed my throbbing head. "I'm fine." I spoke my voice just over a soft whisper. Tanjiro rested his other hand on my upper back to steady me out of concern.
He looked at me sadly. "I just suddenly woke up and you were lying on the floor with blood pouring from your mouth. Do you feel better?" He said while slightly tilting his head to see my expression clearer.
I nodded. "I'm alright. I just have a headache, that's all." I pursed my lips and turned to the old lady. "I'm sorry for causing you so much trouble." I spoke sadly while Tanjiro's grip on my hand never faltered.
She shook her head while smiling. "It's alright, dear. You were no trouble at all." She spoke kindly with soft eyes.
I sighed before nodding and turning to look at Tanjiro. "Where are your friends?" I inquired while lowering my hand from my head and placing it beside me, on the futon I lay in.
He smiled softly and looked into my eyes. "They're in the other room so don't worry about them intruding."
I closed my eyes and exhaled a large sigh. "How long was I out for?" I questioned with furrowed brows
"Don't worry, you've only been asleep for an hour or so." The old lady beside me answered kindly. "I did have a doctor check up on you, but they said that they couldn't identify what was wrong." I opened my eyes and blinked in confusion while furrowing my brows further. "He said it was almost like there was nothing wrong with you, to begin with, at least from what he could understand." I pursed my lips and stared at my lap. 'How come Tamayo-San was able to identify the illness with very limited resources but the doctor couldn't with a ton of them?' I thought while tapping my fingers on the futon I sat in. 'That doesn't make sense-' My eyes slightly widen as my thinking continues. I pause my movements and Tanjiro stares at me with confusion. 'What if it isn't an illness in the first place?' My eyes widened further. 'That could be why Tamayo-San kept the explanation of the illness vague. But why would she keep that from me in the first place?' My mouth slightly parted at my uncertain conclusion.
