============================

There was a sudden knock at the door, as I stood in the kitchen, mixing a bowl of rice. “Miyu, could you get it!” I called through the home.

The Oji door that led to the bedroom opened, revealing Miyu’s smiling form. She grinned widely at me before nodding. “Sure!” She rushed over to the large door and opened it, revealing Kei, and her children. Miyu’s grin widened. “Hi, Kei-san!” She moved her gaze to the children. “Hi, Nezuko-chan, Tanjiro-kun, Takeo-kun, Hanako-chan, Shigeru-kun, Rokuta-kun!” She exclaimed before inviting them in. “It’s good to see you!” She finished.

Ever since me and Miyu finished the small house after about three months, we had started getting a lot closer to the Kamado family. It has now been about six months since we arrived at the village.

The only reason I allowed the Kamado to come over every now and then, is because I haven’t sensed any demons nearby over the time I've been here. Obviously, my suspicions were at an all-time high because of this, but I let it slide since Miyu basically begged me on her hands and knees to invite them over. When Miyu begs, it’s very hard to resist.

We hid our weapons, my uniform, and my haori in a cupboard that rested in the bedroom and required a key to open, which I kept around my neck at all times. The only time I would open that cupboard would be when I’m training Miyu.

I turned to everyone after they walked in, and wiped my hands on the small apron I wore, before taking it off and hanging it on the coat hanger before meeting Kei’s gaze. She smiled and walked over to me, her youngest child in her arms. “(Y/N), I love what you did with the house. Who would've thought that those ruins could be turned into this…” She looked around the home with a smile.

Miyu set Kei’s other children in the living area, on the couch. I smiled lightly at Kei. “Thank you, Kei-san. Miyu put a lot of effort into it.” The children's laughs could be heard in my voice.

She tilted her head while adjusting her hold on her youngest. “What about you? You put a lot of effort in, didn’t you?” She inquired as the child in her arms began to try to eat the stray pieces of hair that fell out of the cloth over her head.

I nodded. “Of Course I did, but Miyu would want most of the credit.” I smiled and scratched my nape as Kei chuckled.

She looked toward the other children. “That sounds like her” We chuckled at her words.

I looked back at her, and lay my rough hand on her shoulder, making her meet my soft gaze. “Go take a seat. I’m taking care of dinner tonight.” I smiled, making her mouth part and frown slightly.

“Are you sure? I coul-” I interrupted her.

“I’m sure. You go take a break. Miyu will take care of the kids.” I spoke before turning away from her, not wanting to make her do anything but take a break for today. I know she’s always busy taking care of her children, and that can be very stress-inducing. I want her to relax once in a while.

I walked back over to the coat hanger and grabbed the apron, before making my way over to the kitchen area once again while tying the apron straps that were around my back into a small and easily breakable knot.

As I kept cooking, the aroma of steamed rice and ohagi filled the room. Thanks to the time I lived with Sanemi, I have learned to make ohagi to absolute perfection, making it my signature dish and the favorite for Kei’s children. The first time they came over and tried my ohagi, they begged for more, only stopping when Kei, Nezuko, and Tanjiro told them to stop and ended up apologizing to me for the amount of noise they made.
