I swallow thickly as I stand in the large gardens of Kagaya's estate. I take a deep breath as the Oji door opens to reveal Kagaya's two children, the same ones that were at my final selection, but at the time were much younger, now they're much older, making a reminiscent smile wash over my features.
Both of their features held emotionless smiles and empty eyes.
"Welcome"
"Welcome"
They both spoke at the same time as they bowed. I bowed back politely and smiled as the one with black hair spoke first. "We heard you were coming, wind hashira, (Y/N)." His smile remained on his face.
The girl with white hair spoke up next to him to continue. "Please follow us. We will take you to Oyakata-Sama" She held her hand out to me as I took it. Her hand was soft and warm, evidence of no physically hard work, unlike most demon slayers.
The one with black hair grabbed my other hand and I stared at them confusedly as they began to try and steady my walk. "If you wouldn't mind me asking, what's this for?" I questioned referring to them by the hands they each held as they walked.
They kept their gaze forward as we continued down the quiet home. "We heard your health isn't as high as it once was..." The white-haired girl spoke.
The other continued. "...So Oyakata-Sama asked us to help you walk in case you had any trouble" His voice was just as distant as the girl next to me.
I furrowed my brows and blinked before exhaling. "That was very thoughtful of him..." I spoke skeptically as we stopped outside a door framed by plants of all kinds, adding a calm aroma to the hallway we stood in.
The girl let go of my hand before turning to me. "Oyakata-Sama will see you now" She bowed her head and opened the door, revealing a room with a single futon in the center, where Kagaya sat, his back turned to us as he looked out the Oji doors that revealed a lovely garden.
"The wind hashira has arrived"
"The wind hashira has arrived"
The siblings chorused as the boy let go of my hand. Kagaya turned to us, a smile prominent on his weak features. "Hello, (Y/N). Please have a seat." He gestured to the spot next to him, where a small cushion sat in place for my form. He turned to his children and nodded to them.
The children nodded to me before they left the room and shut the door behind them as I strolled over to the cushion and sat next to Kagaya. "How are you, (Y/N)?" He questioned, his soothing voice calmed my head as he spoke, making me smile.
"I'm good. How are you?" I questioned back as I watched the birds fly through the bright blue sky which was covered with no clouds.
He nodded and turned to the sun's rays. "I'm good."
