HOW MANY MONTHS had it been since his twin had gone missing? Two? Three? He couldn't remember anymore, all he knew was that it was supposed to be their birthday that day, and like every year they were supposed to spend it separately.
But even if they spent it in the company of themselves alone- just the thought that they were in the same house with each other brought comfort to him. But now that she was gone- he felt incomplete. Like part of him was missing.
Was it the twin bond that kept them together? Because he felt as if she was still alive somewhere- and somehow that just made him feel even uneasier. She was apparently still there somewhere- but their father had declared her dead, so why did he feel as if she was still alive?
He still remembered the days when they were younger. The days where the five children would gather around one giant cake for the two twins. God- he missed that so badly. How he wished that he had treasured those birthdays back then. the days when the both of them were still together- the days when their father had not yet snatched him away from her.
He sighed sadly while he stared at the numerous greetings that flooded his phone. Mostly from classmates and other people who knew him because of his father and/or from the news. He quietly scrolled through his social media while the sky was still dark- like he always did on the days that insomnia and memories struck him.
He continued scrolling through instagram- till he came across one post, posted yesterday.
