"So...Would you mind telling me what you did to get that wound of yours?" I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned my weight on one foot as I questioned the snowy-haired male.
He scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest as he closed his eyes before huffing loudly. "You didn't tell me what was wrong last night, so I won't say." He spoke.
I raised a brow and gritted my teeth. "Really? You're going to act like a child?" I huffed out as I put my hand to my temple and started to rub it. "Besides, I already told you, I don't know what it was. Stop being immature and at least tell me why you got injured in the first place." I closed my eyes and exhaled.
He hesitated before answering. "...I was on a mission." I glanced at him. "I was supposed to be huntin' down a lower moon demon. The annoying thing is, the demon was so damn slippery, I had no other choice but to chase it." I leaned back against the wall, crossing my legs over one another. "By the time the sun was about to rise, the demon had gotten away, but then I ran into an upper rank." My eyes widened and I leaned forward. "Before I could even realize it was an upper rank, it sliced my stomach before leaving." He pursed his lips. "It probably thought I was dead."
"You almost were when I found you." He glanced at me from the corner of his eye. "What upper moon was it?" I questioned, meeting his gaze.
He looked away before answering. "I didn't see what number, but from what I remember, its weapons were two fans." I tensed and clenched my fists.
I narrowed my eyes to the floor below me. "That damned bastard...!" I seethed through my teeth.
Sanemi turned his attention to me with narrowed eyes. "Judging by your reaction, you've seen this guy before?" He questioned as he turned on his side to face me, still lying on the couch.
I nodded. "Yeah, I've seen him." I chuckled softly. "I even fought him." His eyes widened and I smiled. "That gives me a one up on you." I cheekily spoke as I ran my hand through my hair while looking down on him.
His eyes remained wide open. "Since when did you fight the upper moon two...?" He questioned with a hint of anger laced with his tone.
I looked down to the floor once more, this time frowning. "...A few days before I found the kid." I spoke and the room turned to silence.
"....Right." Sanemi broke through the silence with his gruff voice before he continued. "How the hell are you alive?" He questioned while inhaling.
I swallowed thickly. "The demon was holding back...for obvious reasons." He nodded and hummed in agreement. "The only reason I'm here right now is because of the sun." I quietly spoke and he nodded again.
"I see." With a huff, he slowly sat up and stood up off the couch.
I hastily approached him and grabbed his bare shoulders to steady him when he began to shake and sway out of balance. "What have I told you about resting, idiot." I gently sat him down on the couch once again.
He gritted his teeth and grabbed my shoulders, steadying me in front of him. "I swear...If you ever get caught by one of those bastards...I'll kill them all and get you back..Got it?" He spoke sternly, making my mouth part and eyes widen.
I blinked. "This is a bit sudden, don't you think?" I questioned with a small smile.
He scoffed and shook his head with a frown. "I don't care. You do realize...If you ever get caught..and turned into a demon...We're all screwed..." He weakly spoke as his exposed chest rose up and down.
I tilted my head, the small smile still on my face. "Is that a compliment?" I questioned, making him scoff once again, causing me to chuckle lightly.
"Don't let it get to your head...It was more of a warnin' than anything." He let go of my shoulders before flicking my forehead and leaning back against the couch.
I chuckled and shook my head. "Whatever you say, idiot."
