Samuel

"Fuck this!" I cursed loudly as the car drive up the street toward the school.

"Luna..." Neil's voice was slight.

"It's Samuel! Or Sam! Or Sammy! Anything else please!" I begged him, turning slightly.

"But that's not allowed...and rude." I saw Neil's eyes narrow through the shadows of trees that flooded into the car.

I just huffed, "suck up!" I smacked my lips and turned my head back to the window.

The street toward Saint Ailbe's Academy of Excellence was long, covered with layers of shadows.

Dense woodlands surrounded the area, and the sight of it made me feel sticky with humidity.

A rod-iron gate perched itself between high stone walls between the trees. There was a man standing at the gate, the driver pulled up to him and began to chat with him.

I gasped as I peered out of the window.

The man at the gate was armed.

"Open it up!" The man's shrill voice suddenly shouted.

The gates creaked open, and as the car rolled past.

An old sign reading:

Saint Ailbe's Academy of Excellence
               Founded 1867

Was welded onto the wall.

As the car passed the gates and the wall, my heart dropped.

The school was at least three stories tall, with other wings to the building wrapping around the clearing it was perched in.

The architecture was clearly of the Gothic Revival, not so common in the era it was built, but close enough.
There were students walking around the grounds, some sitting in the grass, others leisurely standing and leaning on walls.

The car pulled to a stop in front of the central building, and as the driver got out, I felt a small tap on my shoulder.

"Luna..." Neil's voice was so slight it was not even a whisper.

"Ugh," I rolled my eyes and turned to him, "what?!"

"Don't be afraid if people stare." He gestured to the small crowd beginning to form around the car.

"What do you-?" I began to ask when we were interrupted by the driver opening door.

"Luna, Neil." His voice was gruff and stern.

Neil climbed out easily, while I only wiggled myself out.  My legs shook with anxiety, the students looked all rich and smart, I did not. The all seemed to know their place in this world, all dressed in their various colors which I did not care to remember about or care about as there was too many, and my head pounded with my heart.

The students stood off a small ways, staring intently at the car.

I had to force my shaky legs and nervous body out of the car.

The moment my feet hit the sidewalk, it was as if a celebrity entered the school.

The students began to talk and chat at laugh and point and stare all at once.

I felt my face flush red, and I couldn't help but shiver a little.

It was all very overwhelming to say the least.

"Luna!" Neil called out.

My heart seemed to seize up and my legs took over.

I rushed over to him and shoved him into the building.

"I told you!!!" I panicked, "Luna is it my name!!"

"Why are you panicking?" Neil raised an eyebrow as I continued to shove him inside. "That's who you aren't, I literally cannot call you anything else even at school."

"But we are-," I began.

"Ah!" He wagged his finger. "Don't you dare say but we are the same age. We aren't. I haven't even had The Test yet." He put his hands on his hips and smacked his lips like I'd never seen before.

I couldn't help but snicker.

Neil...I just realized...was probably gay.

Stereotypically so...

And he never showed this side of himself at that old, creaky house we lived at.

"Luna!" He waved his hands in front of my face. "If you don't come to reality really fast than we will be late! The headmaster and headmistress want to see you!" He took my wrist in his hands and pulled me a little bit.

"What do you mean headmaster and headmistress? There are two?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, their married." We stopped in front of a set of oak doors.

He knocked once or twice, and the doors creaked open, causing me to cringe.

"Enter!" A strong female voice shouted.

"Neil Greenway and Samuel Whitestone." Neil's voice was barely above a whisper, but my head snapped back at what he called me.

"Did you just say, Samuel Whitestone?" I froze a little.

"I'll explain later Luna!" Neil took my wrist and guided me into the room.

A large office greeted us, a man sitting beside a heavy wooden desk, a woman sat nearer the door, her desk was smaller, and files littered it.

"Welcome to Saint Ailbe's Academy of Excellence Luna Samuel." The man stretched out his hand.

"Tristan!" The woman hit his hand quickly. "Not allowed."

"Oh right!" The man called Tristan withdrew his hand.

"What the fuck was that?" I leaned in and asked Neil.

He didn't answer.

"My name is Tristan Nielsen, and I am the headmaster here. This," he pointed at the woman, "is my wife, Ursula."

"Nice to meet you," the woman tilted her head to me.

"She's the headmistress and handles things for the omegas, Luna's, and female students." The Headmaster smiled widely.

"Isn't that sexist?" I again whisper-questioned to Neil.

He again did not answer.

"I see here you haven't done well recently in school," The headmaster sighed. "And you have a lot of infractions."

The headmistress gulped a little, so did Neil.

"Well, I did promise Nicholas a place for him so that is what we will give." The headmaster sighed. "Neil will show you to your first class," he stood, passing me a paper slip. "I hope you do much better here than you have been at St.Mary's High School." He held his hand out again.

This time, I reached for it.

Suddenly, however, I felt a hard slap on it.

"OUCH!" I cried. "What the-?!" I held my tongue.

"Neil, to class. And take the Luna." The headmistress jerked her head.

"Yes, Mrs. Nielsen." His voice was so faint it hurt.

He took a hold of my arm and dragged me out again, leading me through groups and groups of students. All of whom seemed to line the halls...waiting on a famous person.
