Summary: What If Pat hadn't told Captain about Alison digging the garden?

Requested: it wasn't

Warnings: angst

Captain's name is Theodore barker for this

Captain was patrolling the house when he heard commotion in the living room

Captain, being curious, walked into the living room to see what was happening

When he was in the room he saw the other ghosts watching a thing about the moon, he decided to watch with them, he didn't like being left out

He saw pat look at him with a smile as he stood in his normal spot behind the sofa and just nodded a hello

Meanwhile in the garden

Mike and Alison were struggling with the garden, the whole thing was a nightmare for them

But they were managing seeing as pat seemed to be managing to keep the ghosts in the living room watching YouTube

They were digging in the garden, Mike with a big shovel, Alison with a trowel

When suddenly Alison stopped

' ... Mike...?'

Mike rushed over to her, hearing the urgency in her voice

' Alison? you ok?' He asked

She nodded silently before VERY carefully wiping the dirt off a box, a box that looked very similar to a bomb

' oh my god-'

The two quickly got in touch with the authorities who were there very quickly to come and sort the bomb

Mike also got in touch with the wedding planner and explained the situation

' oh god ' the planner cried ' no one was hurt where they?!'

' no luckily Ali saw it as she was digging ' Mike said

' oh good, I'll talk to Claire and ask if she'll rearrange, I'm sure she will, she wasn't keen on the other place we looked at ' he said

Mike sighed and relief before thanking him and hanging up the phone

Alison meanwhile was being bugged by the ghosts... Captain most of all

' what did it look like?!' Kitty had asked

' was it's witch craft?!' Mary had cried

' Alison! What will they do to it?' Captain demanded

Alison answered each question before looking at Captain

' I don't know cap, they need to unassemble it I guess '

Captain looked more panicked by that but said and left the room

Alison was worried about the captain, he seemed very on edge by it

Suddenly a police officer came in and said ' ma'am, we've managed to take apart the bomb, it seemed to be a prototype limpet bomb'

' oh good, thank you officer'

' we did find something else, it seems to be a letter to someone named William? This is your house and land so it's yours for the keeping ' the officer said, giving her the letter before taking his leave

Alison stared at the letter in her hand before sighing and letting her curiosity get the better of her

She opened it and began reading

By the end she had even more questions

The letter read

'
Dear William

It's probably very unprofessional of me to use your first name but I feel using your title in a letter of this form would be rather silly

I'm unsure how you will react to this so I beg of you not to hate be once you have read this

You see, I have come to care for you, rather a lot... more than a man should for another man

I fear I have come to care for you more than a captain should his lieutenant

If you are still reading this, and you do not hate me, I ask that you burn this letter or dispose of it how you see fit

Kind regards

Captain Theodore Barker '

The letter ended there

Alison could see that it was slightly crumpled from where captain had clearly almost thrown it away

' where the bally hell did you get that?!'

Hi!

I hope you enjoyed this

I got the idea while my grandma was here ( seeing as my grandmother never listens to me 🥲)

Thank you for reading

Have a good day/night

Bye!
